Disney World Prepares for Spring Break by Hiking up Prices Across the Board
With spring break just around the corner, the Walt Disney World Resort is bracing itself for what’s shaping up to be another bustling season. According to Florida Review, the peak period will run from March 1 through March 23, and if last year’s crowds were anything to go by, we can expect a surge of eager guests flocking to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Following the whirlwind of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, spring break marks the first major crowd rush of the year. Last holiday season was the first to showcase Disney’s revamped Lightning Lane system, and while the company is still fine-tuning its approach, the system has proven to be a hit with guests.
Disney’s premium offering, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass—an all-in-one pass granting expedited access to select attractions—saw sellouts over multiple days, including an impressive 10-day stretch from Christmas through New Year’s. Despite its steep price tag, it appears that guests are willing to pay for the convenience.
Alongside the Premier Pass, Disney offers the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and the Lightning Lane Single Pass, which function similarly to the retired Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Selections. One of the biggest changes was the return of advance attraction booking—something many fans longed for since the days of FastPass+.
While the Premier Pass is the priciest option, reaching up to $449 for Magic Kingdom, it continues to see strong demand. This year alone, the pass sold out on non-holiday days in January and even for a nine-day stretch over Valentine’s Day. However, Disney has not disclosed how many passes are available each day. With the pass now open to all guests, regardless of resort accommodation, sellouts are happening at an even faster rate.
As spring break looms, Disney is set to capitalize on the anticipated crowds. From March 1 through March 6, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will hit the record-high prices across the parks. Magic Kingdom will see the highest cost at $449 on select days during that period (March 2-4)—a rate last seen during Christmas—while Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be priced at $349, $249, and $199, respectively on other days.
For those willing to splurge, the Premier Pass grants one-time Lightning Lane access to all eligible attractions within the selected park. At Magic Kingdom, this means priority access to top rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run, the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the beloved Peter Pan’s Flight, plus 17 other attractions (subject to availability).
With only a few weeks to go until spring break, all signs point to Disney World preparing for a massive influx of visitors. It’s not just the parks gearing up—new data reveals that Orlando is one of the most-searched destinations for spring break this year. The only question now is whether the weather will cooperate, as Florida braces for a series of cold fronts leading into March.
