Guests visiting EPCOT at Walt Disney World may be in for a shock, with one hardcore fan making a rather unsavory discovery recently. According to a new, firsthand report, Disney has erased the original music loop from EPCOT.
EPCOT has undoubtedly endured some of the most extensive and most transformational changes in Walt Disney World history. Over the last five years, EPCOT has evolved and morphed into a completely new experience, one that may even throw long-time Disney fans for a loop if it’s been a while since their last trip.
Over the last several years, EPCOT has received many upgrades and overhauls, and the park now features some of Disney’s most impressive rides and attractions. In 2022, EPCOT welcomed its first-ever roller coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Not only is this coaster a first for EPCOT, but it’s also a first for The Walt Disney Company, featuring exciting new technology never seen in a Disney theme park. EPCOT is also now home to a ride based on Pixar’s Ratatouille (2007) and an immersive walkthrough experience inspired by Disney’s Moana franchise.
However, history is a core part of the EPCOT experience, with the park recently losing one of its most defining features.

Twitter/X user DreamfinderGuy shared a photo of EPCOT, specifically one of the park’s restrooms, delivering the sad news that the classic music loop has been removed from this specific location.
These restrooms are located at the back of the Imagination Pavilion, which houses several attractions, most notably Journey Into Imagination with Figment.
This music loop has been in rotation since the park opened in 1982.
Y’all, I bring forth tragic news… The Imagination restrooms no longer play the 1982 area loop.

The Imagination Pavilion opened alongside EPCOT on October 1, 1982, though the pavilion’s main attraction, Journey Into Imagination, would not officially open until the following year in March of 1983.
DreamfinderGuy shared a follow-up video, revealing that the more modern music loop from 1999 is currently playing in the bathrooms.
In lieu (or should I say in loo?), they are playing the 1999 loop. I have never felt more awkward in my life than I did filming inside an empty restroom for twitter.

The full 1982 EPCOT music loop can be heard below, as shared by ResortTV1 on YouTube.
Even though guests may not think twice about it, music plays a big part in the overall Disney park experience, with classic tracks filling practically every inch of Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
As stated earlier, EPCOT has received a lot of upgrades recently, with one of EPCOT’s most popular thrill rides, Test Track, closing earlier this summer.
This closure is not permanent, with Disney unveiling a bold new vision for the iconic thrill ride, which is expected to reopen sometime in 2025. This marks the second overhaul of the attraction and the third iteration of Test Track as a whole, with the ride originally opening in 1999.
