Walt Disney World Resort’s Dining System Got a Boost—Briefly

Earlier this week, both the Walt Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app quietly rolled out a sleek new interface for booking dining reservations. This update, similar to a recent change at Disneyland, added several guest-friendly features: multi-day availability browsing, more precise time filtering, and a smoother overall experience.

It was a breath of fresh air for seasoned planners who have long criticized Disney’s outdated dining search tools. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it a long-awaited improvement.

Reversal With No Explanation

But that celebration didn’t last long. By this morning, the new features had vanished. Both the app and website reverted to their previous formats, with no warning, announcement, or explanation from Disney.

The short-lived update gave guests more flexibility and control, cutting down the need to manually search every date and time slot. Its sudden disappearance doesn’t just signal technical confusion—it adds to the ongoing frustration many guests already feel about Disney’s over-reliance on complex digital systems.

With the rollout of Genie+, Lightning Lanes, virtual queues, and more, guests have become increasingly dependent on their devices to navigate the parks. Removing a helpful planning tool—without explanation—only adds to the uncertainty and fatigue.

Will the Feature Return to Disney World? Fans Hope So.
