Disney World Cancels Beloved Parade at Magic Kingdom, Here’s Why

Guests visiting on November 8 and 9, 2025, will notice that the Festival of Fantasy Parade will not be performed on those dates. The brief pause allows Disney to focus on seasonal festivities, including the filming of The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration. In its place, a cheerful update awaits daytime visitors on November 8—Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will roll down Main Street, U.S.A., during the day.

This marks a rare opportunity for daytime guests to experience the Christmastime Parade outside of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Featuring Elsa, dancing gingerbread men, marching toy soldiers, and Santa Claus himself, the procession will likely coincide with scenes filmed for the annual television special.

Just one day earlier, on November 7, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party made its grand return, running select nights through December 21. The ticketed event turns Magic Kingdom into a winter wonderland filled with snowfall, hot cocoa, and cookies along Main Street, U.S.A. Guests attending the after-hours celebration can look forward to Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, as well as festive overlays on fan-favorite attractions like Jingle Cruise and Space Mountain–Holiday Run.

As Disney transitions from autumn festivities to the merriment of the holidays, the first Christmas weekend of November promises an especially spirited atmosphere. However, visitors planning to enjoy the park during the filming period should anticipate heavier crowds than usual.

“Wave to Elsa and other beloved Disney pals as they float by in this yuletide parade. Delight in an entertaining display chock-full of good cheer. Snap memorable photos of dancing gingerbread men, marching toy soldiers, and beloved Disney Characters as they float by, waving hello,” Disney describes the parade as a joyful procession. “There’s even a special appearance by Santa Claus—riding in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.”

With the Christmas season officially underway, Magic Kingdom is ready to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his… More »
