On March 19, WDWNT reported that digital pricing displays had been installed at two Disney Springs merchandise locations: Marketplace Co-Op and Disney’s Pin Traders. Photos shared on Facebook showed the new signs in action, displaying prices tied to the color label system Walt Disney World Resort commonly uses for smaller souvenirs like trading pins, keychains, pens, and magnets.

Walt Disney World Resort did not make any public announcement about the rollout and has not confirmed whether the displays will expand to shops across its theme parks and resort hotels.

What This Technology Makes Possible

Digital price displays allow Walt Disney World Resort to update merchandise prices instantly, opening the door to dynamic pricing, where the cost of a souvenir could fluctuate in real time based on demand, availability, and other market factors.

Disney hasn’t announced plans to implement dynamic pricing for merchandise specifically, but the company has already indicated that it’s coming for theme park tickets. Disney’s Senior Executive VP and CFO, Hugh Johnston, addressed the topic directly in November 2025:

“We’re actually investing in creating dynamic pricing. We’re doing it in Paris right now. We’ve been doing it for about a year. It’s off to a very good start, but we’re really going to make sure we optimize it before we bring it into the domestic parks. So that’s probably something that you won’t see this year, but you may see in the subsequent years.”

With digital merchandise displays now appearing at Disney Springs, the infrastructure for a similar approach to souvenirs is quietly falling into place at Walt Disney World Resort.
