On June 7, a significant transformation began at Disney World as Muppets Courtyard officially closed its doors. This beloved area, known for its whimsical Muppet-inspired attractions, is being readied for a new and exciting venture: the introduction of Monstropolis, a Monsters Inc.-themed land. As part of this renovation, the iconic Miss Piggy fountain, a staple for many guests, has been removed, marking the end of an era.

With the closure of Muppets Courtyard, dense foliage and familiar sights have been obscured by construction walls, signaling the start of a new phase for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Fans have watched as the whimsical elements of this area are dismantled, paving the way for fresh experiences based on the beloved Pixar film.

The demolition at Muppets Courtyard is a clear indication of Disney’s ambitious expansion plans for Hollywood Studios. The introduction of Monstropolis is expected to inject new life into the park, attracting both fans of Monsters Inc. and those eager to experience fresh attractions.

Adjacent locations like PizzeRizzo have also felt the effects of these changes, with minor alterations taking place. Although the fast-food eatery remains largely functional, its surrounding atmosphere is shifting, as Disney prepares to reimagine the area for future visitors. This ongoing development reflects Disney’s long-term vision to enhance the overall experience at Hollywood Studios while keeping guests engaged and entertained.

Despite the changes. Muppets fans need not worry; the beloved characters will still have a presence in Disney World. The fun-loving trio of Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear will soon take over the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, located just a few blocks away in the same park. This thrilling ride, which has been headlined by the iconic band Aerosmith, is set to undergo renovations to give it a delightful Muppet makeover, bringing a fresh flair to the experience.

While exact timelines for these transformations remain unconfirmed, the future looks bright for Muppets enthusiasts. Disney is committed to maintaining engagement with its fans, ensuring that favorite characters continue to entertain and delight audiences throughout the park. As construction progresses at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests can look forward to a myriad of changes that promise to enhance their Disney experience in new and exciting ways.
