You say you want more Disney Villains? Well, don’t miss out on “Villains Unleashed” taking place on August 23, 2014 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. More information and ticket sales should be coming this week. For those of us who attended last year’s “Villains Unleashed” night, we are very glad they made this a hard ticket event.

The original “Villains” 24 hour event was chaotic to be kind. Many shared their experience with Guest Services on their way out and almost everyone was saying next time, make it a hard ticket event and have enough trained Cast Members to handle this event. It appears that they listened, at least about the hard ticket part. What was also evident was how very popular the Disney Villains are and people will put up with a lot in order to see their favorite villains. The stage was great, and the show was very enjoyable, and everyone loved seeing the rare villains such as Oogie Boogie, Hades, Jafar, Maleficent, Bowler Hat Guy, the Evil Queen, Meg, Pain and Panic, Hook, and Shan Yu.

Walt Disney World has been expanding these “hard ticket” events with “Harambe Nights” at Animal Kingdom on Saturday evenings this summer, “After Hours Wind Down” at Epcot, “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party” and “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” at Magic Kingdom. A “hard ticket” event is one that you need to purchase a separate specific ticket for it in order to attend. You do not have to have a regular park admission ticket, just the Hard Ticket for the event.

The Villains were really, really good and totally worth going out for. There is the hope that Hollywood Studios may have been “testing” some of the elements of the evening at the “Limited Time Magic-Villains Unleashed” last year. It was not a hard ticket event so the crowd level took the park to capacity even before the event could begin and turned the parking lot into a nightmare. Some people were directed to park at Epcot and were bused over. When we find out about any of these elements to keep the traffic moving we will let you know. Ticket sales will start this week with ticket sales expected to roll out to DVC and Annual Passholders first, then general public. Plan to arrive early.

About Cassie

Cassie L. I am a lifelong Disney fan. I attended Walt Disney World in 1971, and was there during the opening week of EPCOT, and have visited the Disney Parks for than 30 times. I have had the privilege of visiting Disneyland as a child, and then again with my children. My family recently moved from the northeastern United States to the Walt Disney World area. I now have cast members in my family and enjoy hearing the magical stories at the end of a shift. I love visiting all of the parks and getting to try more Disney food and being able to share it with you to help you plan your own magical day at Disney.
