Location Confirmed: Villains Are Taking Over At Magic Kingdom

You might want to hold onto your Mickey ears—because Disney is about to get seriously wicked. The Villain’s Land location has been confirmed!

Behind Big Thunder Mountain, something major is brewing. And no, it’s not just another ride or snack stand. It’s a massive expansion fans have been dreaming of for years: a full-blown Disney Villains Land. For the first time ever, the bad guys are taking center stage, and based on early construction and rumors, it’s shaping up to be the boldest addition Magic Kingdom has seen in decades.

The Wildest Ride Isn’t the End Anymore

Traditionally, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad marked the outer boundary of Magic Kingdom. But now, Disney’s pushing beyond those borders—literally. A massive chunk of land has already been cleared out, with concept art and aerial photos hinting at something far more elaborate than a simple ride. This is a complete land expansion, and it’s not just about space—it’s about flipping the park’s vibe.

In a resort where fairy tales and happily-ever-afters dominate, Villains Land is set to embrace something darker, sassier, and—let’s be honest—way more fun.

Frontierland Is Getting a Total Shakeup

Villains Land isn’t popping up in a vacuum. It’s part of a much larger transformation taking place in Frontierland. Disney is closing Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Belle Riverboat, and sections of Rivers of America on July 7, 2025. That’s a pretty big deal. These aren’t just minor refurbishments—they’re permanent closures to make room for entirely new storytelling areas.

And because of all the activity, even the Walt Disney World Railroad will be shifting. Starting the same day, the train will only run between Main Street and Fantasyland, bypassing Frontierland completely during construction.

The Wicked Fun We’ve Been Waiting For

While Disney hasn’t spilled all the details yet, there are some seriously exciting rumors floating around:

1. Villain takeovers might replace traditional meet-and-greets. Think Hades hosting challenges, Ursula causing magical mischief, and Jafar tempting guests with dark deals.

2. A gothic-style sit-down restaurant could anchor the land’s dining scene. Names like “The Poison Apple” and “Villain’s Lair” are in the mix. Expect moody lighting, creepy cocktails, and maybe even a few villain visits while you eat.

3. A Maleficent-themed coaster is rumored to lead the lineup. Picture blazing fire effects, thorny scenery, and a ride experience that’s part roller coaster, part immersive dark ride.

4. There’s even talk of a magic mirror walk-through, where guests interact with enchanted reflections of themselves—perhaps revealing a wicked alter ego.

Why This Is a Big Deal

Magic Kingdom has always leaned on nostalgia, but this project shows Disney isn’t afraid to shake things up. Instead of just layering new stories onto old spaces, they’re making room—literally—for bold, cinematic storytelling. Villains Land might just redefine what we expect from a Disney park.

Ready to root for the bad guys? This could be your dream come true—or nightmare, depending on how you look at it.
