The Disney Cruise Line fleet is about to grow once again with the arrival of the Disney Treasure, the sixth ship in the fleet, which is set to sail on December 21. This new addition will join the ranks of the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and the 2022 debut ship, Disney Wish. Looking ahead, Disney fans can expect the Disney Adventure, the fleet’s seventh ship, to join the ranks in 2025.

After completing a stunning 4,500-mile transatlantic journey from Eemshaven, Netherlands, the Disney Treasure now rests in Port Canaveral, Florida, where it will begin its service. As part of the new Triton Class, this ship introduces some exciting new features for guests to enjoy, including the AquaMouse water ride and Disney Tale of Moana, a Broadway-style musical that will bring the enchanting world of Moana to life at sea.

For those looking to indulge in unique dining experiences, the Disney Treasure has you covered. The ship features many incredible dining venues: Worlds of Marvel, Plaza de Coco, and 1923. At Plaza de Coco, guests are treated to a multi-night culinary experience, accompanied by the music and imagery from Pixar’s Coco, led by the beloved character Miguel.

The Disney Treasure will set sail soon, with voyages including 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. But before welcoming its first guests, the ship hosted an industry event organized by Disney Experiences (formerly Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products). However, not everything went according to plan: during the event, a fire alarm was triggered, causing water to pour down over the atrium.

TikTok user @vincentvacations posted the dramatic scene, saying:

“Will #DisneyTreasure be able to sail today??? This is CRAZY! The number of fans needed is impossible to know.”

Despite the unexpected flooding, the Disney Treasure was given the all-clear to embark on its maiden voyage. This wasn’t the ship’s first dramatic moment, though. On its way from Europe to the U.S., the Disney Treasure became a real-life hero when it rescued four people stranded on a sinking catamaran. The U.S. Coast Guard issued a distress call, and the Disney Treasure, the nearest vessel, swiftly responded, sending a small boat to rescue the passengers of the Serenity.

Upon arrival at Port Canaveral, Disney announced the launch of the “Treasure Tomorrow” program, designed to inspire and empower young people in communities across Florida, The Bahamas, and the Caribbean.

Sharon Siskie, via Disney Parks Blog, shared her excitement about the initiative: “What better way to celebrate the Disney Treasure joining our growing fleet than with the launch of our ‘Treasure Tomorrow’ program. This was created to inspire students in our homeport communities to discover a variety of exciting career paths and gain the tools to pursue their dreams.”

He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his… More »
