Disney Suspends New Guest Entry After Hitting Capacity, Vacations Refused

Disneyland Paris, Europe’s beloved Disney destination, is currently experiencing a surge in demand as it reaches capacity during the French school holidays, which last until November 4.

This busy period coincides with the Halloween festivities, enticing families and tourists to indulge in the magic of Disney in a festive atmosphere.

Since its opening in 1992 as Euro Disney, Disneyland Paris has come a long way. Initially met with mixed reviews and local resistance, the park underwent a significant rebranding to become Disneyland Paris in 1994, shifting its image and establishing itself as a major entertainment hub in Europe. Today, it attracts over 15 million visitors annually, solidifying its status as a top destination for both international travelers and locals alike.

With a visitor capacity of approximately 30,000 in Disneyland Park and 15,000 in Walt Disney Studios Park, reaching full capacity is common during peak times. The ongoing French school holidays have pushed attendance to new heights, leading to several days of sell-outs for both single-day tickets and Disneyland Pass holders. The resort has issued notices urging guests to check availability and book ahead, underscoring the high visitor volume.

Managing Popularity: New Queuing Systems

In response to increasing crowd levels, Disneyland Paris has implemented a variety of crowd management measures. Notably, the recently refurbished Disneyland Hotel had introduced a virtual queue system, allowing guests to access the hotel’s lobby in a more organized manner.

This measure had been crucial in handling the public’s overwhelming interest in the hotel’s luxurious updates.

Additionally, the parks often display “at capacity” signs during peak periods, reminding guests to secure reservations early.

French School Holidays Explained

In France, school holidays are structured around various breaks throughout the year. The autumn break, known as “Toussaint” (All Saints’ Day), occurs at the end of October and lasts for two weeks, making it a prime time for families to travel. Disneyland Paris often becomes a focal point during these holidays, attracting visitors with its seasonal events and enchanting offerings.

DLP Report shared that the parks will be at full capacity for many of the days this week, “With the French school holidays ongoing until November 4 and Halloween, the Resort is sold out several days this week for day tickets and Disneyland Pass Holders. Make sure to check and book before visiting.”
