Disney Springs Location’s Permanent Closure Confirmed After Worrying Reports

Guests visiting Disney Springs at the start of the new year were met with an unexpected sight: Sprinkles Cupcakes, a longtime dessert location in the district, had closed. The bakery officially ceased operations on January 1, 2026, bringing an abrupt end to a venue that had been part of the Disney Springs landscape since 2016.

Sprinkles first opened its Disney Springs storefront in May 2016, offering cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and ice cream to Walt Disney World visitors. The location quickly became known for its cupcake ATM, which allowed guests to purchase treats outside regular operating hours. Over time, it became a common stop for families and guests seeking a quick dessert while exploring the shopping and dining area.

Despite its popularity, the closure came without advance notice to the public. In the days leading up to the shutdown, the store appeared to be operating normally. Posted hours extended into early 2026, and guests could still place orders and use the cupcake ATM. There were no visible indicators suggesting the bakery was nearing its final day.

Toward the end of December, reports began circulating online that Sprinkles was preparing to close all of its remaining locations worldwide. While the Disney Springs shop continued serving guests, individuals claiming to be employees shared a different experience on social media. According to those posts, staff members were reportedly informed of the closure with very little notice, in some cases as short as one day. The timing, coming just after the holiday season, led to criticism regarding how the situation was handled.

Disney Food Blog later confirmed the closure by visiting the location and finding a sign posted outside the storefront. The Disney World website now lists the location as “No Times Available,” and Sprinkles’ official website no longer shows any bakeries available for pickup or delivery. Attempts to access ordering pages result in “not found” messages.

Additional signs of the shutdown appeared online. Forbes noted that operating hours were removed after December 31, a change often monitored closely by those who track Disney Springs operations. The bakery’s ordering system also stopped accepting bookings beyond the end of the year, further reinforcing that the retail presence had ended.

Adding to the lack of communication, Sprinkles’ official Instagram account has been deleted. The account had previously been used to share updates, seasonal offerings, and announcements. Its removal left fans without direct information from the company regarding the closure or future plans.

Disney Springs continues to evolve, with shops and restaurants regularly rotating in and out of the district. Still, the quiet departure of Sprinkles stands out due to its long tenure and the absence of a formal announcement. As guests pass the now-closed storefront, the space awaits its next chapter.

For many visitors, Sprinkles now joins the list of former Disney Springs locations remembered for their role in the area’s history.
