Disney Culls Christmas Celebration, Shares New Holiday Plans for 2025

For Disney’s parks, the holiday season is more than just an occasion — it’s a full-scale production. Across the world, guests flock to celebrate with themed shows, special food, and limited-edition merchandise that often become annual traditions.

EPCOT in Florida hosts the celebrity-narrated Candlelight Processional, while Magic Kingdom presents Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, one of its most sought-after after-hours events. In California, Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A. transforms into a winter wonderland, complete with (faux) snowfall that drifts over guests in the evenings. Even Disney California Adventure joins in with the Festival of Holidays, celebrating global traditions through music, food, and entertainment.

Tokyo Disney Resort, which operates under The Oriental Land Company, has also carved out a reputation for elaborate seasonal celebrations. Japanese fans have embraced its holiday parades, stage shows, and unique merchandise for decades. Among the most beloved traditions was the Disney Christmas Stories Parade, a fixture for 10 years before being retired at the end of 2024.

A Festive Successor Emerges

The resort has now confirmed the parade’s successor. Titled Toys Wondrous Christmas, the new entertainment offering will debut on November 11, 2025, and run through December 25. It will feature toys built in Santa’s workshop, with Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters joining in to bring children’s holiday wishes to life.

“Santa Claus and the elves have been busy at the toy factory, getting toys ready for the children who sent in Christmas letters,” Tokyo Disney Resort states on its website. “Now, fresh from the factory, the toys join Mickey Mouse and his friends for a fun-filled and magical parade.”

The official artwork shows Mickey and Minnie in festive outfits, joined by Pete in a holiday-colored costume. Promotional visuals also spotlight teddy bears and colorful floats, suggesting a production filled with music, dance, and detailed design — trademarks of Tokyo Disneyland’s seasonal entertainment.

Backed by Familiar Partners

Toys Wondrous Christmas will be presented through sponsorship from Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (JAL) and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. This is the seventh time JAL has supported a Tokyo Disneyland parade, underscoring a long-standing partnership between the airline and the resort. The company already operates two entertainment venues at the property: the Fantasyland Forest Theater at Tokyo Disneyland and the Broadway Music Theater at Tokyo DisneySea.

Premium viewing will also be available for those willing to pay extra. Guests can secure parade seating for 2,500 yen ($16.92) per person through the Premier Access system, giving them guaranteed views of the seasonal spectacle.

The parade will be part of a wider lineup of holiday offerings. Other highlights include Starbright Christmas, a nightly fireworks display visible from both parks; Country Bear Theater Jingle Bell Jamboree; Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare; and Disney Christmas Greeting, a festive character show at Tokyo DisneySea’s Mediterranean Harbor.

Toys Wondrous Christmas will mark the beginning of a new holiday tradition at Tokyo Disneyland, reflecting both the park’s evolving entertainment strategy and its commitment to seasonal celebrations that resonate with local audiences.
