After a long hiatus stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, one of EPCOT’s cherished attractions, the lockout diving demonstration, has officially returned. This revival marks a significant milestone in the park’s journey back to normalcy.

Before March 2020, these demonstrations occurred every 30 minutes at SeaBase Alpha, allowing guests to enjoy thrilling and educational experiences. With the park closures and the subsequent restrictions, the divers’ performances were suspended, creating a void that many fans of the park felt deeply. However, the return of the diving demonstrations brings back a beloved aspect of EPCOT, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

These diving demonstrations offer a unique opportunity for guests to witness real divers entering a specially designed lockout chamber. This chamber connects to one of the largest aquariums in the United States, allowing spectators to see the divers in action as they enter a large tube filled with water. It is not merely a spectacle, but an engaging experience that showcases the talents and expertise of aquarists.

Guests can enjoy a unique interaction with the marine life during these shows. The presence of divers in the tank adds a dynamic touch as they interact with various species of fish and larger marine creatures, igniting curiosity and excitement among viewers. The educational benefits are also substantial, as the experience allows participants to learn about marine biology, conservation, and the importance of protecting ocean ecosystems, all while being entertained.

The Seas aquarium houses an impressive 5.7 million gallons of water and serves as a habitat for around 8,500 sea creatures. This expansive environment contains a variety of marine life, from tiny fish to majestic manatees. The sheer scale and diversity of The Seas draw visitors in, providing a visual treat that complements the educational components of the diving experience.

Besides showcasing breathtaking aquatic life, The Seas also features a beloved dark ride based on Pixar’s Finding Nemo. This ride cleverly integrates animated characters with real aquarium exhibits, allowing guests to journey through the story’s events while gliding past stunning marine creatures. The combination of real and animated life in the same space creates an unforgettable adventure for families and fans of the film alike.

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
