Disney fans who adore Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are in for a temporary shake-up this fall. Starting October 13, 2025, the resort’s Paddock Pool, along with its adjoining aquatic play area and the popular Paddock Grill, will shut down for refurbishment. Disney expects the closure to stretch into early December, leaving some November and early holiday travelers without one of their favorite hangout spots.
This isn’t the first time a Disney resort has had to pause access to a key amenity. With thousands of guests using the pools and dining areas every week, periodic refurbishments are a necessary part of keeping these spaces clean, safe, and functional. While no major overhauls have been announced, Disney hinted this project is more about routine maintenance than a complete reimagining.
Other Pools Still Open
Thankfully, Saratoga Springs is massive and well-equipped. Guests won’t be left without a spot to swim. The resort’s feature pool—High Rock Spring Pool—remains open, complete with waterfalls, a waterslide, and a zero-depth entry that’s a hit with families. Smaller leisure pools scattered throughout the property also provide quieter alternatives for those who want to relax away from the hustle.
Still, many regular visitors will feel the sting of losing the Paddock Pool. Families love the splash pad, while adults often appreciate the convenience of grabbing a quick meal or drink at the Paddock Grill without trekking across the resort.
Why the Timing Makes Sense
Closing in mid-October may sound inconvenient, but the timing is intentional. October and early December tend to fall between Disney’s peak resort seasons. Summer travelers have gone home, and the major holiday crowds haven’t fully arrived yet. This scheduling window gives Disney time to get the work done before Christmas week hits full swing.
What Guests Can Expect Instead
Dining-wise, The Artist’s Palette will remain open as the primary quick-service location. Plus, Disney Springs is just a short boat ride away, offering endless options. For pool time, guests will still have choices aplenty.
While the closure is sure to cause some short-term frustration, it’s ultimately part of Disney’s ongoing investment in its resorts. When the Paddock Pool and Grill reopen, guests can expect a fresher, more polished experience—just in time for the busy holiday season.
