Disney Quietly Pulls the Plug on Beloved Kids’ Dining—Families Call It a Huge Mistake

Character dining at Walt Disney World has always been about more than food—it’s about creating those once-in-a-lifetime memories. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Hollywood & Vine has long been a favorite for families looking to combine breakfast with a little Disney magic. But now, that tradition is about to look very different.

A Fresh Look at Breakfast

Starting October 12, 2025, guests will wake up to Minnie’s Seasonal Dining for breakfast. Instead of waiting until lunch or dinner, fans can now see Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, and Goofy decked out in their rotating holiday outfits first thing in the morning. Halloween costumes in October, festive sweaters in December, or springtime florals—it’s a fun twist for those who love seeing the characters dressed for the occasion.

The Flip Side: Disney Junior Bows Out

But there’s a trade-off. For years, Hollywood & Vine’s breakfast was the home of Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine, where kids could meet Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, and other beloved TV characters. That offering ends on October 11, leaving many parents wondering where their toddlers’ favorite pals will appear next.

A Bigger Pattern at Hollywood Studios

This change isn’t happening in isolation. The Disney Junior Play and Dance! show is also closing on September 25, removing one of the few indoor kid-friendly outlets in the park. While the new “Magic of Disney Animation” project is set to open in 2026 with fresh experiences, the in-between period may feel like a loss for families with younger kids who rely on those familiar characters.

Exciting Yet Bittersweet

There’s no doubt Minnie’s new breakfast will be popular—classic characters always draw a crowd. Still, many families will be disappointed to lose the Disney Junior presence, especially since Hollywood Studios tends to lean toward thrill rides. For now, fans are waiting to see if Disney announces another way to bring back those favorite preschool characters.

Andrew Boardwine

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
