Disney Theme Park Security Area Torn Apart, Photos Show

Big changes are underway at Disneyland Paris Resort, including the ongoing transformation of the Disney Village security screening area for Disney Resort hotel guests. New photos have emerged showing the progress of the renovation.

The iconic European Disney Resort is no stranger to construction lately. Two Starbucks locations at Disney Hotel Santa Fe and Disney Hotel Cheyenne are currently undergoing refurbishments. Meanwhile, major plans are in place for Walt Disney Studios Park, which is preparing for its 2026 transformation into Disney Adventure World. When the Disney park debuts its new name, it will also introduce the World of Frozen and a new Up (2009) themed ride. In addition, Disney Village is set to welcome new dining and shopping locations, including a McDonald’s.

This week, though, the changes to the Disney Resort hotel guest security area in Disney Village have captured attention. X (formerly Twitter) user @DLPReport recently shared photos offering an aerial view of the construction site:

🔧 Good progress is also being made on the new Disney Village Security Gates for Disney Hotel Guests, and the nearby landscaped area. Hopefully the railings are temporary or will be painted as they don’t match the rest of Lake Disney 🤨

From the images, it’s clear that the roof of the new security area is nearly finished, but work on the landscaping, concrete, and final details is still in the early stages. As the social media user pointed out, some of the newly installed railings don’t seem to blend with the surrounding aesthetic of Disney Village and Lake Disney. Whether these will be adjusted in the final stages of construction remains to be seen.

Until the new security area is completed, guests are being directed to temporary security stations set up under green tents. Disneyland Paris Resort has not yet announced an official grand opening date for the new security area, but it’s expected to open sometime later this year.

Disneyland Paris Resort operates a security system that’s a little different from the U.S. Disney parks. While the usual metal detectors and bag checks are in place, certain Disney Resort hotels in Paris also check guests’ luggage at the entrance. Disney Resort hotel guests may also be asked to open their vehicle trunks upon arrival.

Do you think the Disney parks have adequate security protocols? Disney Dining would love to hear from you in the comments!
