Disney Park Guest Spent $300+ Just To Ride Single Attraction

Last summer, one dedicated guest spent over $300 to ride a single attraction at a Disney theme park.

Disney theme parks are famous for many things. From the various rides and attractions at each park to the delicious restaurants, beverages, and snacks guests can enjoy, there’s no end to the incredible entertainment found at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

This extends to Disney’s international theme park resorts as well, such as Disneyland Paris and the Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan.

However, Disney vacations are notoriously expensive, especially stateside, with the average family of four paying thousands to spend a week at “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”

This issue is compounded by all of the extra add-ons offered at the Disney theme parks, like Disney’s controversial Lightning Lane system. However, one guest took this to the extreme, testing the limits of Disney’s paid line-skipping tool in Japan last summer an, sharing their results online.

“How many Disney Premier Access (DPA) tickets for Journey to the Center of the Earth can you get in one day?” asked Twitter/X user CotE_0904 back in July of 2024.

The guest revealed that the answer to their question is 32. “It costs 1,500 yen per session, so I spent 48,000 yen.”

That’s right, this guest spent 1,500 yen per session, totaling 48,000 yen. This is roughly equal to $313 USD, an absolutely staggering amount of money. To put things in perspective, the cost of a single-day ticket to Tokyo DisneySea is set at 5,400 yen or roughly $35 USD.

Journey to the Center of the Earth is an attraction at Tokyo DisneySea, one of two theme parks at the Tokyo Disney Resort.

It is unknown why exactly this guest embarked on this experiment, though they appear to be massive fans of the attraction in question. Following their experiment, they changed their profile picture to feature an image of Journey to the Center of the Earth and have shared dozens of updates regarding the attraction.

Disney Premier Access works similarly to Disney’s Lightning Lane system, allowing guests to spend real money in order to skip the line for select rides and attractions.

Guests can select a designated time in advance and enjoy an attraction of their choice with a shorter wait time. A brief explanation of Disney Premier Access is shared below:
  • Each Park ticket can be used to purchase one Disney Premier Access.
  • You will be able to purchase Disney Premier Access for another attraction 60 minutes after purchasing Disney Premier Access, or after the start time of your purchased Disney Premier Access, whichever is earlier.
  • If you would like to purchase Disney Premier Access for the same attraction again, you may do so after using the Disney Premier Access you have purchased or after the designated time to use your Disney Premier Access has passed.

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
