Disney Parks Cancels Massive Christmas Partnership Just Weeks Before Holiday Season
Christmas is one of the busiest times on the Disney calendar, when parks across the globe trade everyday attractions for parades, stage shows, and limited-time experiences. At Disneyland Paris, that season is only days away — but a last-minute announcement has changed what visitors can expect this year.
The Walt Disney Company has long leaned on its holiday programming to fill parks and boost revenue. At Walt Disney World in Florida, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party sells out months in advance. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the newer Disney Jollywood Nights brings a glamorous twist to the season.

Further afield, Disney’s international resorts have followed suit, such as Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disney Resort, Disney’s newest theme park destination. From fireworks to character greetings, the holiday calendar has become an anchor of Disney’s yearly operations.
Plans Cut at Disneyland Paris
This year, Disneyland Paris was expected to feature a high-profile partnership with Parisian department store BHV. That collaboration will no longer move forward. According to Disney, the arrangement “creates conditions” that make it impossible to continue. The issue stems from BHV’s separate agreement with fast-fashion giant SHEIN, a deal that prompted the French resort to withdraw from the project.

The timing of the cancellation is striking. With only weeks to go before the likes of tree-lighting ceremonies and festive parades begin, Disney has had to quickly adjust its holiday strategy. Collaborations with major Parisian retailers have helped boost visibility in the past, but the sudden exit underscores how corporate partnerships can unravel under scrutiny.
Disneyland Paris has long distinguished itself by emphasizing European style during the holidays. Guests typically encounter elaborate garlands down Main Street, U.S.A., a towering Christmas tree in the central plaza, and seasonal performances including Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade. Carol singers and costumed meet-and-greets add to the distinctive atmosphere that draws millions of visitors each winter.
Holiday Magic Still on the Way
Even without the canceled collaboration, Disneyland Paris has confirmed a full lineup of programming. Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade will return alongside the Let’s Sing Christmas! stage show. Guests can expect nightly tree-lighting ceremonies, snowfall moments along Main Street, and festive décor throughout the park.

There is also something new: Mrs. Claus will make her debut in a dedicated meet-and-greet beside Santa, offering families a fresh holiday photo opportunity. Seasonal food items and exclusive merchandise remain on the schedule as well, ensuring the Christmas atmosphere is intact despite the setback.
