An adorable social media video from Walt Disney World Resort’s Hurricane Milton shutdown shows a Disney character performer creatively entertaining Disney Resort hotel guests.
Initially, Walt Disney World Resort didn’t plan to close for Hurricane Milton. However, as the storm rapidly strengthened, the Central Florida Disney park decided to close early on October 9. Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park remained closed on October 10 and reopened with minimal damage on October 11.
During the storm, Disney cast member “ride-out crews” stayed at the Disney Resort hotels to entertain trapped guests. Walt Disney World Resort enforced curfews to protect guests from going outside during the storm. Still, it encouraged Disney cast members to interact with guests in lobbies and other common areas before and after curfew.
These ride-out crews played games, held dance parties, and otherwise entertained Walt Disney World Resort guests of all ages. They even included Disney character performers who brought the magic of the Disney parks to Disney Resort hotels.
In a video posted by TikTok user @emilyelr, a Disney character performer dressed as Pluto stood behind a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) kiosk. He pretended to sell timeshares to guests and played peek-a-boo with kids from behind the counter.

The video amassed likes and comments from Disney Parks fans, who admired Disney cast members’ dedication to making magic for guests during Hurricane Milton.
“We love a money-making king,” one commenter joked.
“He said to buy Aulani,” the Disney Park guest replied. “I feel like I can’t argue that?”
Disney Vacation Club is a timeshare program for select properties at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. For more information about contracts, visit the official website here.
