Disney Changes Magic Kingdom Access, More Guests Effected
As Magic Kingdom prepares to welcome the fall season, guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort this summer will notice a shift in morning operations. Starting August 15, the park will open earlier on select days to accommodate Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Disney recently updated its calendar to reflect an 8:00 a.m. opening time on party dates, with Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort hotel guests beginning at 7:30 a.m. This change is designed to give day guests more time to enjoy the park before the Halloween celebration kicks off at 7:00 p.m. Party attendees are still able to enter starting at 4:00 p.m. without a separate general admission.
Additional early opening dates have been added: August 17, August 19, and August 22 will follow the same adjusted schedule. The update provides extra access for those hoping to enjoy favorite attractions and entertainment offerings during the day.
As Halloween draws nearer, Magic Kingdom is once again preparing to host Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The first date to sell out was October 31, with other August nights quickly following. The special-ticket event brings seasonal experiences to life in a way that has become a regular part of many guests’ fall traditions.
This year’s Halloween party includes the return of the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, a nighttime procession that brings characters, villains, and dancing specters through Main Street, U.S.A., along with a dramatic appearance by the Headless Horseman. At Cinderella Castle, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular once again features the Sanderson Sisters teaming up with other Disney villains for a lively stage show full of effects and music. The evening ends with Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular—a fireworks and projection display hosted by Jack Skellington.
While the return of these popular offerings has excited many fans, the event has also received some criticism due to its increased pricing this year, part of a wider discussion about value at Disney Experiences.
