Dining at Steakhouse 71

Disney’s Contemporary Resort features an innovative and modern A-frame design that welcomes Guests to explore several levels of unique dining, shopping, amenities, and more. The Disney Resort is very popular with Guests thanks to its easy access via the monorail line which runs directly through the stunning lobby, silently gliding by above as Guests explore and enjoy all that there is to experience including several very popular restaurants.

Steakhouse 71 is a relatively new location at Disney’s Contemporary Resort that has gained popularity quickly thanks to its great design and décor as well as its creative menu that blends American classics with contemporary steakhouse favorites. The table service restaurant is located on the lowest level of the Disney Resort, not far from the check in and concierge desks, and occupies the space that was formerly The Wave…of American Flavors.

Steakhouse 71

Steakhouse 71 pays homage to the year 1971 when the Walt Disney World Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort first opened for Guests and this theme can be felt in the retro décor that is sprinkled with some modern flair. Inside the main dining area, Guests can spot bright carpeting, abstract and geometric paintings and artwork, modular light fixtures, bright pops of color, and a sleek ceiling featuring thin wooden slats.

In addition to the year, Steakhouse 71 also honors Walt Disney himself by serving several menu items that were favorites of his back in the day as well as traditional steakhouse options. These hearty and delicious options immediately transport Guests back in time and there are also several black and white photographs in the entry of Steakhouse 71 that show Walt on various adventures throughout the world with friends and family.

Cocktails

Steakhouse 71 is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and Guests can begin any meal with a delicious beverage option including soft drinks, coffee selections, tea, beer, and wine. There are also plenty of creative specialty cocktails that Guests can indulge in like the Bourbon Cold Brew, Steakhouse Bloody Mary, Citrus Grove Cocktail, Fig Manhattan, Amaro Highball, Raspberry Gin Sour, and Pear French 75.

Guests who follow a plant-based diet also have the option of the Vegetable “Welington” which wraps mushroom duxelles and fire-roasted artichokes in puff pastry with a side of Brussels sprouts.

Each steak option comes with the choice of one side, and Guests can choose from traditional steakhouse options like Creamed Spinach, Garlic-Mashed Potatoes, Seared Broccolini, Macaroni & Cheese, Au Gratin Potatoes, Charred Asparagus, and Red Wine-glazed Mushrooms. Guests also are able to choose one sauce to accompany their steak and can choose from options including Chimichurri, Signature Steakhouse 71, Wild Mushroom, Bearnaise, Au Poivre, Red Wine, and Whipped Horseradish Cream.

Guests who are not looking to enjoy red meat at their dinner at Steakhouse 71 have several alternative options including the same plant-based Vegetable “Wellington” served from lunch. Also available are the Florida Sustainable Fish en Papillote with shrimp, fried potatoes, asparagus, baby carrots, and lemon buerre blanc and the Chicken Chasseur accompanied by parsnip puree, roasted mushrooms, and sauce chasseur.
