Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory

The main dining option at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, located inside the Disney Resort’s main lobby building. This quick-service location is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and features several different ordering stations where Guests can choose from a wide array of options.

Themed to feel like a warehouse where Mardi Gras parade floats are created, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory initially welcomes Guests through a large wooden door decorated with an ornate Mardi Gras mask complete with feathers, food items, and utensils. Just inside the main door, there is a small display with more beautiful Mardi Gras masks that helps to set the festive tone for any meal.

The main dining area of Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is a large warehouse-style room that has exposed metal rafters above, where all sorts of old parade float props and beads can be found on display. Guests who look closely at one of the displays can even spot large playing cards featuring characters from the Disney animated film Princess and the Frog, including Prince Naveen.

Since Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory features several different ordering stations to choose from, Guests have plenty of different options for each meal period throughout the day. Breakfast kicks off each morning with entrée options like a Ham and Cheese Omelet, Mickey Waffles, Continental Breakfast with blueberry Greek yogurt, banana, and croissant, Egg and Cheese Bagel Sandwich with eggs and American cheese, or the Breakfast Bagel Sandwich which is exactly the same with the addition of bacon.

Guests looking for a heartier breakfast at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory can order from a limited menu of platters that are sure to properly fuel them up for a long day in the Disney Parks. The Bounty Platter features scrambled eggs, a Mickey Waffle, breakfast potatoes, and sausage, and the American Platter combines scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, and sausage making both great options.

There are also plant-based options like the Plant-based Mickey Waffles, Overnight Oats, and Chipotle Seitan and Vegetable Sauté as well as typical breakfast sides like bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and scrambled eggs. Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory also features a grab-and-go station with beverages, fresh fruit, granola bars, yogurt, and other options for Guests to enjoy.

The lunch and dinner menus at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory are identical and feature more of the flavors of New Orleans through unforgettable options. The first ordering station serves up fresh sandwiches like the Prime Rib Dip, Turkey Sandwich, and Barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich on a Kaiser roll topped with creamy coleslaw and mango ketchup and served with Guest’s choice of side.

Burgers are also readily available at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory including a classic Cheddar Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger, and the Signature Pimento Bacon Cheeseburger which loads on toppings of bacon, pimento cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Also found at the same counter as the burgers are traditional delicious Chicken Strips and the House-seasoned Grilled Chicken Sandwich with crispy bacon, cheddar, and fresh lettuce and tomato.

Lighter options include salads like the Garden Salad which can be ordered plain or with chilled chicken or shrimp for an additional price. The Impossible Barbecued Market Burger is also available as a plant-based option and is topped with arugula, tomato, avocado, and barbecue sauce.

Just steps away from Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is a popular quick service location that serves up one of the most beloved snacks at the Walt Disney World Resort. Scat Cat’s Club – Café opens early each morning and begins serving up the very popular Mickey-shaped Beignets, which are a traditional New Orleans snack of fluffy and golden fried dough pockets that are smothered in powdered sugar.

Guests love to flock to Scat Cat’s Club – Café at all hours of the day for the delicious Mickey-shaped Beignets which can be enjoyed in the classic fashion or as the Baton Rouge Beignets which are filled with either Bailey’s, Kahlua, or RumChata. In addition to the Beignets, Guests can also enjoy an array of coffee beverages to begin each day or pick them up in the afternoons.

Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is also home to Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge, a lounge-style area attached to Scat Cat’s Club – Café that welcomes Guests each evening to enjoy a jazz club with charming exposed brick and comfortable seating. In the center of the room is a small stage where various performers can be enjoyed each evening, ranging from singers to quartets and more.

After five each evening, Guests who visit Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge can enjoy a selection of appetizers that also includes the famous Baton Rouge Beignets. Other delicious choices on the menu are Bayou Wings, Po’ Boy Seafood Flatbread with shrimp and oysters, Boudin Balls, Mardi Gras Fritters, and Loaded Potato Puffs. Each appetizer is an excellent choice to pair with a specialty cocktail and some live entertainment!

Mardi Grogs

The final dining option at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is located just steps away from Doubloon Lagoon Pool and opens each afternoon. Mardi Grogs is an open-air pool bar with several seating options at the bar itself as well as more comfortable chairs and tables nearby. The quick-service spot mainly serves up specialty cocktails, beer, and wine for Guests enjoying the pool, but also has a very limited selection of dining options.

Guests who stop by Mardi Grogs each afternoon can enjoy a snack in the form of a large Pretzel served warm with cheese sauce, in addition to a selection of various types of individual bags of chips. Actual meal options include a Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken, Ham and Cheese Sub, Chicken Salad Sandwich, and Turkey Sandwich, all of which are relatively light and great options to enjoy poolside!
