Date for Opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Announced

We are all anxiously awaiting the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World.  The themed land has already opened at Disneyland and has been extremely popular.  The first phase of the opening only included 1 new attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Thanks to Disney Parks Blog, we have confirmation of when the 2nd new attraction for the lad, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, will open at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.  The attraction is set to open at Walt Disney World Resort on December 5th, 2019.  This date is significant because it is also Walt Disney’s birthday!  This new attraction will be a great tribute to Walt since it is one of the most immersive and advanced attractions that Disney has ever created.

Per Disney Parks Blog, “When it opens, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.”

Over at Disneyland Resort, the attraction is set to officially open to guests on Friday, January 17th, 2020.

Who else can’t wait to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance?

Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips… More »
