Overnight, EPCOT Reveals Replacement for Norway Pavilion Location

Earlier this month, Disney Dining reported that Walt Disney World Resort had installed new construction walls in the Norway World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The barriers were add-ons to existing construction walls, which extended from the courtyard in front of the Royal Sommerhus, through a popular pathway to the restrooms, and up to the Stave Church building.

At the time, it was clear that the construction walls surrounded the location of a former snack and drink cart, which sold beers, soft drinks, and the standard packaged frozen treats available throughout Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. However, Walt Disney World Resort did not share any information about the purpose of the plywood barriers and scrims.

Now, though, Disney Parks fans have a first look at what’s coming to the Norway World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. On Wednesday, WDWNT reported that a permanent snack and beverage kiosk had clearly been installed behind the construction walls. Although some barriers have been removed from the area, they still surround the new structure.

The new snack and beverage kiosk features Scandinavian-style wooden carvings and a gable roof covered in foliage, similar to other buildings in the Norway World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. It’s located steps away from some of the Disney park’s most popular attractions, including Frozen Ever After, the Anna and Elsa meet-and-greet at Royal Sommerhus, and the Disney Princess character dining experience at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t said when the new Quick Service location will open, though it could be as soon as the busy Christmas week. Although it’s unclear whether the menu will change when the cart reopens, it will likely serve similar treats and beverages as the one it replaced.
