Construction Equipment Appears at Land Rumored for New Disney Park
Construction equipment staged across from Disney’s Sequoia Lodge at Disneyland Paris Resort has sparked speculation about a potential third theme park. However, the machinery likely relates to an ongoing hotel renovation rather than new park development.
Equipment Spotted on Rumored Third Gate Site

X (formerly known as Twitter) account @DLPReport shared aerial photos on Monday showing construction equipment on vacant land across from Disney’s Sequoia Lodge. The location has long been rumored to be a potential site for a third European Disney theme park.
“🔧 Staging is ongoing on the land across Disney Sequoia Lodge, commonly referred to as earmarked for a third gate. Don’t get too excited though as it’s likely related to the hotel’s refurbishment,” @DLPReport posted.

The construction activity doesn’t indicate imminent development of a third Disney theme park. Disneyland Paris Resort recently launched a planned refurbishment of Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, updating the Disney Resort hotel property with natural woodsy elements and wildlife themes. The unused land is likely being repurposed as a staging area for that project.
Hotel Remains Open During Renovation

Unlike recent refurbishments at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel and Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Sequoia Lodge will stay open throughout the project. The lobby and guest areas—including rooms—will transform in phases, allowing visitors to continue staying at the Disney Resort hotel.
Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t announced a completion timeline for the refurbishment.
Resort-Wide Transformation Continues

The renovation at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge is part of extensive changes across Disneyland Paris Resort. Multiple Disney Village restaurants and shops, including McDonald’s and the Disney Store, are closing for modernization. Additionally, a new security checkpoint in the shopping district is nearing completion.
Walt Disney Studios Park is preparing to rebrand as Disney Adventure World on March 29, 2026. The reimagined park will feature new attractions, including a Tangled (2010) spinner, the Disney Cascade of Lights nighttime spectacular, and World of Frozen. A Lion King (1994) land with a log flume ride is under construction for the park, though an opening date is not confirmed. An Avatar (2009) land is also rumored, but unconfirmed.
