Check out our article below 7 Things Walt Disney World Insiders Love About Disney Special Events by Molly
Disney insiders love Disney at any time of the year: hot, cold (relatively), rain, sun, whatever. They love it. They especially love when special events take place around the parks. Special events do have their downsides: more crowds, less parking, longer lines, etc., but truth be told, Disney Insiders know how to get around all that. Disney Special Events are always great, so here are 7 things Disney insiders love about them:
7. The Variety
As much as we all love Disney, even great things can become mundane. My family can sometimes slip into a rut when it comes to Disney. So when we hear about a special event coming to the Parks, we get excited. And not only do special events switch things up a bit, they always have variety. Disney brings in events for food lovers, garden lovers, music lovers, and ultimate nerds. There’s something for everyone year after year to make sure guests never get bored.
6. The Perks
Disney Insiders love special stuff. Especially if the special stuff says that it’s special stuff. My dad practically runs to the Pin Station in front of the fountain in Epcot to get special edition festival pins. Plus, there are usually special perks simply for being a Disney insider: unique pins or shirts or pre-booking opportunities. It’s even cooler when those things are free, even though that doesn’t happen very often. We love that.
5. The Success
If you’re a Disney insider, you clearly love the Parks. And more than that, you believe in them. Disney Special Events are great because they tend to draw larger, more diverse crowds. Even though crowds can be annoying, they mean that people are coming and invested in what Disney is offering. Disney insiders love to see Disney flourish and special events really do that.
4. The Food
Special Events mean special food! Disney insiders live for food. Everybody loves a good Mickey Bar, but if there’s something new on the menu: we’ll be the taste testers. Disney often brings in celebrity chefs and cooks up new menus specific to the type of event. Food and Wine is stellar for new delicacies and Flower and Garden Festival has even introduced food booths. Even events like Candlelight Processional have fun food opportunities. Food is everywhere in the Parks, but special events put a unique spotlight on it.
3. The Hype
Special events provide Disney insiders with a unique perspective. Since we are blessed enough to get to go to Disney often, sometimes we forget to get super excited about it. But special events let us join in with the countdowns and ridiculously early reservations and being obnoxious to our friends. It’s fun to get excited! And it’s fun to see the hype spread to more than just the Disney enthusiasts. This ties along with success, but we love to see Disney out of its comfort zone, or ours. We basically just like to see Disney everywhere.

2. The Guests
When Disney puts on special events, they need to up the Castmembers. There’s a higher demand for jobs and roles during these times. But certain roles can only be filled by specialists. During Flower and Garden, HGTV stars come in to Epcot to give demonstrations and talks, while at Food and Wine, there are celebrity chefs and cooks all over! Also during these events are special concert series where Disney brings in some of your favorite old bands to serenade Epcot. I love the Candlelight Processional because of the guest narrators, which are always awesome. In the past, narrators have included Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg, Jodi Benson, Amy Grant and so many more. They all help to add just a little more magic.
1. The Magic
If there’s one thing that Disney insiders love and never want to get sick of, it’s that Disney magic. But being Disney insiders, we often try to know everything, including behind-the-scenes secrets. Unfortunately, sometimes this means spoiling some of the magic. But special events at Disney allow everyone to be completely blown away! There’s also something really special about events that you know won’t last forever. These events make us want to soak in as much magic as we can!
