Big Changes Coming To The Great Movie Ride

Big Changes Coming To The Great Movie Ride

The New York Times is reporting that big changes will happen early next year to the Great Movie Ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Cable channel Turner Classic Movies will refurbish the ride and be credited as a sponsor, or presenter of the Great Movie Ride.

In addition, TCM will have the rights to air classic Disney programming, including cartoons, documentaries and TV shows.

According to the NYT article, changes at the ride will take place in the first quarter of 2015, updating the queue and finale videos to include TCM host Robert Osborne.

Disney fans have been saying for years that this ride was in desperate need of a make over.  We can’t wait to see what TCM does with it.

An announcement is expected Wednesday.

About Rick Killingsworth

Rick visited the Magic Kingdom in 1971 for the first Christmas parade in their history. At nine years old, he was bitten by the Disney Bug. He can still remember the sights, the smells, and the sounds. It truly was magical. It would be twenty years before he could afford to take his young family back to “The World.” It was the vacation of a lifetime, and they have been fortunate to go hundreds of times since. His daughters, now grown, still tear up when they see the castle (as does he).
