The Disney Parks Blog announced today an expansion of sorts to Cinderella Castle in The Magic Kingdom.
Here is a first look at another milestone for the area – the addition of new turrets that flank Cinderella Castle. The turrets extend the castle’s royal look across the front of the area.
Other changes such as new pathways, gardens, and fireworks viewing areas have been previously announced.
There are some similar structures on the back-side of the castle that were added as a part of the New Fantasyland expansion.
Very little has been done to the castle since it first opened in 1971.
However, as a part of the 2006 “Year of a Million Dreams” promotion The Cinderella Castle Suite was built at Walt Disney World. It was built in a space that was originally intended to be an apartment for Walt Disney before his passing.
