As Christmas Celebrations Begin, Disney Removes Snowman Character From Park

Just as the Christmas season gets underway at the Disney parks, one beloved snowman is disappearing from the official entertainment lineup. Olaf, from Frozen (2013), has been temporarily removed from a meet-and-greet experience at Disneyland Paris Resort — and fans believe they know who might be stepping in to take his place.

At the end of October, guests noticed that the meet-and-greet with Olaf at Animation Celebration in Walt Disney Studios Park had been quietly removed from Disneyland Paris Resort’s entertainment schedule. The closure officially begins on November 26, 2025, and the experience is slated to return on January 6, 2026.

While Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t announced an official reason for Olaf’s disappearance, the timing aligns perfectly with the release of Walt Disney Animation’s Zootopia 2 (2025).

Disneyland Paris Resort will celebrate the premiere of Zootopia 2 beginning November 26, 2025 — the same day Olaf’s closure begins. Though Disney hasn’t confirmed specific plans for the event, guests can likely expect limited-time merchandise, themed food and drinks, and the possible return of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.

Many fans believe that the Zootopia (2016) characters will temporarily replace Olaf during this period. While no official confirmation has been made by Disneyland Paris Resort, the overlap in dates has sparked widespread speculation on social media.

Frozen Will Return in 2026

Even though Olaf will be gone for a short time, Frozen fans have plenty to look forward to in the new year. Disneyland Paris Resort has confirmed that Olaf’s meet-and-greet will return in early January 2026 — just before an even bigger expansion arrives at the European Disney destination.

In spring 2026, Walt Disney Studios Park will officially transform into Disney Adventure World. As part of the transformation, Disneyland Paris Resort will introduce the World of Frozen, a fully immersive land inspired by the 2013 animated hit. Guests can look forward to the Frozen Ever After boat ride and a brand-new family coaster, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.

Disneyland Paris Resort has also confirmed future plans for a The Lion King (1994)-themed land and a log flume attraction at Disney Adventure World, though an opening timeline has not yet been announced.

Zootopia at Disney World

While Disneyland Paris Resort prepares for Zootopia 2, fans around the world are already celebrating. At Walt Disney World Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently unveiled Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, a brand-new show that brings the animal-filled city to life.

The attraction features an advanced audio-animatronic of Clawhauser, similar to the version found in Zootopia: Hot Pursuit at Shanghai Disneyland. The experience reimagines Animal Kingdom’s backstory, suggesting that the characters from Zootopia carved the animal figures into the Tree of Life.

To mark the celebration, the park also debuted limited-time food, drinks, and merchandise inspired by the new film, along with a Discovery Island meet-and-greet featuring Nick and Judy in their Zootopia 2-inspired costumes.
