On August 11, 2025, Walt Disney Imagineering filed a “Notice of Commencement” for construction work at 2901 Osceola Parkway, the mailing address of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The filing listed JCQ Services, Inc., a contractor with experience working on other Walt Disney World Resort projects, including a recent overhaul at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds.
The permit is likely tied to a previously announced plan to revamp and modernize the Deluxe Resort hotel, including significant room upgrades. Crews will remove old fixtures, furnishings, and décor as they prepare for new room designs.
The construction project will take place in phases. Refurbishments at Kidani Village are slated to begin in October 2025 and last through May 2026. During this period, rooms will be repainted and refurnished, with new flooring, lighting, and other upgrades. The Jambo House rooms will follow suit, undergoing similar improvements from May 2026 through January 2027. Additionally, the Zebra Trail Terrace area of Jambo House began a refurbishment on July 7, 2025, and is expected to be completed by mid-September.
During the refurbishment, much of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will remain open, but some areas may be affected by construction noise or activity. Guests are being informed of potential disruptions ahead of time, with the official booking page noting that they may hear or see construction work while staying at the Deluxe Resort hotel.
Walt Disney World Resort is working to ensure the guest experience remains as comfortable as possible during this extensive renovation. However, given the scale of the project, it’s clear that the next two years will offer a different experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
