ALL Disney World Guests Warned This Week as Theme Park Closes Gates
A winter chill has settled over Central Florida, and its effects are being felt across Walt Disney World Resort. Following a packed Christmas week, guests arriving with plans to enjoy every corner of the destination have encountered an unexpected change: Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park has closed completely, with no guest access available.

Rather than a brief pause or limited entry, Typhoon Lagoon has shut its gates for multiple consecutive days. The decision comes as a cold front moves through the region, bringing fluctuating conditions that have disrupted normal operations. While cooler weather is not unusual during Florida winters, the recent drop in temperatures has been enough to halt water park operations altogether.
This closure follows a season marked by adjustments and interruptions. Throughout the fall and early winter, Typhoon Lagoon has experienced several weather-related shutdowns, including one during Thanksgiving weekend. The latest forecast shows the pattern continuing through the end of December and into the New Year, prompting Disney to take a cautious approach.

“A massive rush of cold air will cross Florida on Tuesday, causing morning and evening low temperatures to fall into the 30s and 40s for much of Orlando and Central Florida,” FOX 35 Orlando wrote.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is already unavailable as part of Disney’s operating schedule, leaving Typhoon Lagoon’s current three-day closure particularly noticeable for guests hoping to enjoy a water park during their visit. With both options off the table, plans for poolside thrills and wave action are on hold.
As temperatures dip, additional advisories have followed.
“The weather service recommends, ‘Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves,’” Kenny the Pirate notes. “A Cold Weather Advisory is issued for Wednesday, December 31, 2025, for Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort.”

The timing of the closure coincides with one of the busiest periods of the year. Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are already welcoming large crowds, with Lightning Lane passes selling out across attractions. With Typhoon Lagoon unavailable, guests may find the remaining parks even more crowded as visitors adjust their itineraries.
Still, cooler temperatures may change how some guests approach their days. Rather than lining up early for rope drop, visitors might opt for a slower morning, bundled up with warm layers and a hot drink back at their resort before heading out.
Weather has always played a role in the Walt Disney World experience, and this latest cold front is a reminder that even Florida can feel winter’s effects. For now, Typhoon Lagoon remains closed as conditions continue to be monitored.
