After Draining the Rivers of America, Disney Removes Another Water Feature From Magic Kingdom
Weeks after draining the Rivers of America, another scenic water feature has disappeared from Magic Kingdom Park. Here’s what we know.
The Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat closed permanently in early July to make way for Piston Peak National Park, a new part of Frontierland inspired by Cars (2006). The area will be influenced by the natural beauty of America’s national parks and include two all-new attractions featuring characters from the Pixar film: a rally race thrill ride and a family-friendly experience.
As crews continue demolition work over in Liberty Square and Frontierland, other Disney cast members have begun a maintenance project in Fantasyland. According to a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter) from @4chipandcompany, the fountain in front of Pinocchio Village Haus has dried up and is now concealed by a large white tarp.
No strings attached… but no water either! 💦 The whimsical fountain outside Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom has been turned off and wrapped in scrim as Disney works on refurbishing the feature.

For now, only the bottom half of the fountain is covered by a tarp, but the exposed upper half reveals that no water is currently falling through the water feature. Disney Park guests can still walk around the fountain to enter Pinocchio Village Haus.
Pinocchio Village Haus is a popular Quick Service dining location in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park. It’s known for flatbread pizzas, salads, and other American theme park fare, with indoor and outdoor seating. It’s best known for having several tables that overlook “it’s a small world”, and the restaurant usually leaves themed signs like “wave” or “smile” on those tables for guests to display for riders.
Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t shared any information about the Pinocchio Village Haus fountain refurbishment at Magic Kingdom Park. Disney rarely issues public statements on minor maintenance projects like this one.
