Walt Disney World continues to provide special events for guests to attend during their vacation. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are two of the more well-known and well-attended special occasions at Walt Disney World. Still, many other unique experiences occur at Walt Disney World throughout the year.

One of these experiences is Moonlight Magic. This is an exclusive experience for Disney Vacation Club members. DVC owners can experience a night of magic during these events in one of the Disney parks.
An additional Moonlight Magic date was added for December 13, 2023. Those registered for the event will enjoy a memorable experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this evening.
Moonlight Magic Events
During Moonlight Magic events, members can enjoy shorter wait times for popular rides throughout the park. With a limited number of guests in the parks, those who attend can experience more in a short period. Along with rides, Disney character greetings take place during the event.
Also, during the entertainment takes place, complimentary treats and delights are available. Often, this includes popcorn, novelty ice cream treats such as the famous Mickey Ice Cream Bar, and bottled water and pop.
When Moonlight Magic Takes Place
These events are minimal, and no dates for 2024 have been announced. As mentioned, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will host a new event on December 13, 2023. Registration for this event will open to DVC members on November 28, 2023.
Throughout 2023, we saw Moonlight Magic Events to EPCOT, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Each of these parks hosted two Moonlight Magic events throughout 2023.
Members wishing to attend a Moonlight Magic event must have a reservation at a Disney resort hotel at Walt Disney World or Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.
Typically, these experiences last three hours after the park closes. Those holding a ticket to the event can also enter the Disney park 2 – 2.5 hours before the event starts. Times vary based on the park, but three hours for the event experience is usually offered.
Disney Vacation Club
Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is a vacation ownership program. Those passionate Disney fans can choose to become a big part of the magic through DVC. Through DVC, guests purchase a real estate interest, giving them vacation points to use at designated Disney locations.
A membership with Disney Vacation Club gives guests access to incredible destinations, accommodations, and magical extras such as Moonlight Magic.
Other Special Events
We already mentioned Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Not So Scary Halloween Party as special events that occur throughout the year at Walt Disney World. There are a few other options as well.
On select evenings, guests staying at a Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort Hotel can enjoy extended evening hours. These events allow these specific guests to experience a Disney park for an extended time after the park closes.
Disney recently confirmed that extended evening hours will continue into 2024, giving guests extra time in the parks. This can be a great way to experience rides such as Tron: Lightcycle Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
We love that Disney continues to put out special events for guests. As we head into 2024, we hope that more of these events and experiences continue to bring the magic.
