A Global Disney Park Transformation Is Coming in 2026
If you’ve been thinking about planning a Disney vacation in 2026, you might want to start booking early. Across nearly every major Disney resort, the company is rolling out new rides, updated favorites, and entire land transformations that will reshape the guest experience. From Anaheim to Tokyo, here’s a rundown of everything that’s coming.
Smugglers Run Gets a Star Wars Upgrade
At both Disneyland and Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is getting a major content update. Starting in May 2026, guests will join the Mandalorian and Grogu on a brand-new mission across several planets. Expect destinations like Coruscant, Tatooine, and even the ruins of the Death Star. The ride will still feature the same crew positions, but the engineer will now get to help pick your destination.

America Takes the Spotlight in Soarin’
For the country’s 250th birthday, Soarin’ is getting an all-American twist. Both EPCOT and Disney California Adventure will temporarily switch to Soarin’ Across America, offering guests a flight over national landmarks and beautiful landscapes. It’s described as a limited-time experience with enhanced effects, new music, and immersive scents.

Muppets Take Over a Hollywood Studios Favorite
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is saying goodbye to Aerosmith and welcoming The Muppets instead. The new story involves Scooter and the Electric Mayhem racing to get to a concert, with plenty of chaos along the way. Disney has also teased an animatronic Scooter inside the attraction, with more surprises likely to come.

Buzz Lightyear’s Attraction Gets Modernized
Over in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is receiving a major overhaul. The updated version will feature new ride vehicles with onboard scoring, high-tech laser blasters, and better visuals. A new character named Buddy will introduce riders to the mission, and the new effects are expected to make gameplay more engaging.

Big Thunder Mountain Levels Up
Magic Kingdom is also giving Big Thunder Mountain Railroad a glow-up. The ride will return with a smoother track, vibrant caverns filled with glowing formations, and a revised story that helps the attraction connect to the upcoming Piston Peak expansion. This one’s a big visual overhaul, and fans of the classic ride should find it feels familiar yet refreshed.

Tokyo’s Wreck-It Ralph Ride Brings the Candy Chaos
Replacing Astro Blasters in Tokyo Disneyland is a new Wreck-It Ralph attraction. Riders will help Ralph and Vanellope fight off “Sugar Bugs” in the world of Sugar Rush. It’s a digital, arcade-inspired experience designed for families, and promises lots of candy-colored fun.

Paris Welcomes Rapunzel and Elsa
Paris is making major changes, too. As Walt Disney Studios Park transforms into Disney Adventure World, two new rides will launch: Raiponce Tangled Spin, a gentle spinner themed around Rapunzel’s lantern scene, and Frozen Ever After, another version of the boat ride seen in EPCOT.

All in all, 2026 is going to be a packed year for Disney fans.
