We have learned that special travel protection will be available for purchase for Walt Disney Travel Company vacation packages, including packages for Walt Disney World. The travel protection add-on will be available starting on April 2nd, 2018 and will be eligible for vacations after that date. For guests that have already booked a reservation for after that date, they will be able to call and have the travel protection added if they want to. The travel protection add-on will be provided by Aon Affinity, which is the provider that Disney uses for the Disney Cruise Line. The plan is only available to United States residents.
Here are the rates for the travel protection plan:
- Walt Disney World Resort: $77.50
- Disneyland Resort: $70.50
- Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa: $80.50
This plan will cover guests in the event that there are unexpected circumstances, which could impact their vacation. This is especially helpful for hurricanes or other concerns that could impact the Central Florida area. There are other scenarios beyond just weather issues that are also covered. The travel protection can be added at the time of booking or with the vacation when the final payment is made.
