Shanghai Disney Resort has confirmed that Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel will open December 16, 2026, with reservations beginning at midnight Shanghai time on November 6. The 400-room property offers another lodging option, although preferred dates could prove competitive.
For American travelers, that midnight launch arrives earlier than the calendar might suggest. November 6 at 12:00 a.m. in Shanghai is November 5 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, or 8:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. Anyone preparing to book should follow Shanghai’s clock, not assume reservations begin at midnight locally.

Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel Sets Its Opening Date
Disney confirmed both dates in an Official Shanghai Disney Resort announcement, replacing the broader winter opening window previously shared for the property. The hotel sits beside Shanghai Disneyland Hotel along Wishing Star Lake, with views toward Shanghai Disneyland and Wishing Star Park.
The nine-story building draws from early twentieth-century Shanghai architecture and Art Nouveau design. Its rooms feature wishing-star artwork and understated Disney references rather than relying exclusively on oversized character decorations. Disney describes the property as a premium addition intended to support longer resort vacations.
The project has been developing for years. Inside the Magic previously covered construction of Shanghai Disney Resort’s third hotel, when its theme and exact opening date were still unknown. Disney subsequently revealed its name during the resort’s tenth-anniversary celebrations in June 2026.

Why Midnight Reservations Could Feel Competitive
Midnight booking launches can complicate planning across time zones. But there is an important distinction between a potentially competitive reservation window and evidence of an actual booking crisis.
Disney has confirmed 400 rooms, not how many will be offered on each date or how many customers intend to book. That room count limits simultaneous nightly accommodation, but it does not establish that millions of travelers are competing for these reservations. Nor has Disney announced that bots, scalpers, or technical failures will affect the launch.
Travelers seeking opening-week stays or particular views may reasonably want to prepare early. Still, availability depends on travel dates, length of stay, room categories, and Disney’s inventory decisions. A sold-out preferred room type would not necessarily mean every room, or every future date, is unavailable.

What Guests Can Reserve November 6
Disney says the initial release includes Enchanted Star Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe Rooms with Park View, Dream Rooms, and Club Rooms. Additional room types are expected to become bookable closer to the hotel’s opening, meaning the first release will not represent every possible accommodation choice.
Reservations will be offered through the resort’s Reservation Center, official booking channels, and authorized travel partners. Shanghai Disney Resort’s official hotel reservation policy says bookings require full payment and are not confirmed until guests receive a confirmation number. Travelers should read cancellation terms carefully before committing.
The resort also advises guests to use authorized sellers, a particularly relevant safeguard when anticipation surrounds a new property. Its official travel guidance identifies the resort website, app, WeChat account, and approved partners among legitimate purchasing channels. There is no verified reason to purchase purported priority access from an unofficial reseller.

A New Hotel With Shared Disney Amenities
Enchanted Star will offer indoor swimming facilities, themed children’s play areas, dining, shopping, and entertainment. A seasonal outdoor swimming pool will be the first at a Shanghai Disney Resort hotel, although its availability will depend on weather and operating conditions.
Enchanted Seasons Restaurant will combine Chinese and international cuisine with a seasonal theme. A dedicated connection to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will allow guests at either property to use shared recreational facilities, dining, and shopping options. That connection broadens guests’ options.
The opening also fits Disney’s broader Shanghai expansion strategy. The company has discussed a fourth hotel and an enlarged shopping and entertainment district, while Shanghai Disneyland continues work on additional attractions. Inside the Magic has separately reported on those resort expansion plans and their implications for future visitors.

What Happens Before Opening Day
For now, the immediate milestone is November 6, when selected room categories become available to reserve. Disney has not provided a universal nightly price in its October 30 announcement, and travelers should not assume that all dates or room categories will carry the same rates.
Before booking, guests can compare room descriptions, verify payment requirements, and decide whether a park view matters enough to shape their budget. Those traveling from North America should also double-check the time conversion, since Shanghai’s midnight release happens during the previous calendar day in the United States.
December 16 then becomes the next test: the first scheduled day guests can experience the hotel. Until reservations actually open, claims of an inevitable sellout, widespread bot activity, or a booking-system collapse remain speculation. The most useful preparation is straightforward: use Disney’s authorized channels, understand the reservation terms, and keep alternative dates or room types in mind.
