Cedar Point Begins Final Countdown, Theme Park Closes in 3 Days

Heads up, coaster fans: Cedar Point’s 2026 season is almost over, and a lot of rides are already gone for the year. HalloWeekends runs on select days through November 1, and the closure schedule has been updated for the final stretch.

We’ve pulled together everything in the report, flagged where its lists don’t agree, and added a late-night police call that has Cedar Point fans laughing. Every claim is tied to its source, and where the information ends, we’ll say so. A seasonal park’s final days can look very different from its summer peak, which is why a little homework before you go can pay off. Let’s go.

The report names Gemini and Magnum XL-200 as the most notable absences, both listed as closed for the season. Also closed: Planet Snoopy, Ocean Motion, Sky Ride, Space Age, Thunder Canyon, and WindSeeker.

The report says coaster fans hoping for a final ride on Gemini or Magnum XL-200 “will have to wait until 2027.” The schedule itself only lists them as closed for the season, and we don’t have more on 2027.

What’s Closing This Week

As of the report’s writing, the Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad and Power Tower were scheduled to be closed. Friday adds Blue Streak, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Power Tower, and Rougarou, and Power Tower is also listed as unavailable on Sunday.

What’s Opening Late

Cedar Point’s published schedule identifies noon openings Friday through Sunday for Camp Snoopy, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Gemini, Power Tower, Skyhawk, SlingShot, Rougarou, and Wave Swinger.

Wait, Those Lists Don’t Match

Spot the problem? Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Power Tower, and Rougarou are on both the Friday closure list and the noon-opening list. Gemini is among the noon openings but also listed as closed for the season.

The report itself says some attractions appear on both the closure and delayed-opening lists, so guests should verify the latest operating information before arriving. We can’t tell you which listing is correct.

The Counts

Here’s a simple tally of the report’s lists. Eight attractions are listed as closed for the season. Four are on Friday’s closure list, and eight are on the noon-opening list. The overlap among those lists is why the numbers don’t add up to a clean picture.

That’s our counting, not the report’s, and it’s only a way to see how much is in flux. The real-time status is what counts, so check the park’s schedule.

Is It Worth It?

The report says HalloWeekends still offers reasons to visit, particularly for guests who enjoy Halloween entertainment and seasonal atmosphere. For visitors whose goal is riding roller coasters, it says the experience may be considerably different from summer.

The report also raises value. Ticket prices vary by date, and a reduced ride lineup doesn’t necessarily mean a cheaper visit. Those are its observations, and the call is yours.

What’s in HalloWeekends

According to the report, the event features family-friendly daytime activities and frightening nighttime entertainment, including scare zones, indoor haunted mazes, and special entertainment.

Trick-or-treat trails, hay mazes, kids’ costume contests, and the show Snoopy’s Tricks and Treats Adventure are included with regular admission. Indoor mazes and other nighttime experiences require add-ons like the Haunted Attractions Pass and The Conjuring: Beyond Fear Add-On.

The Midnight Mix-Up

On October 25, according to a separate report, an off-duty law enforcement officer noticed a person “covered in blood” entering a vehicle at the 24-hour Love’s Travel Stop on U.S. Route 250 in Milan, Ohio, shortly after 10:00 p.m., and requested assistance from on-duty police.

The scanner report reached the Cedar Point fan community on Reddit because of what came next. The officer gave an all-clear soon after, once the person was determined to be a Cedar Point scare actor, still wearing fake blood from their costume.

The All-Clear

The report quotes the all-clear message: “Oops, my mistake. You have a good evening!”

It took less than two minutes for the officer to cancel the request, the report says, after the “subject covered in blood” was “determined to be Cedar Point haunted house employee after work.” The scanner report ended: “No issues.”

Reddit Remembers

In the comments, u/bengenj recalled a similar incident: “Had a buddy pulled over by Mason Police and they were confused because he was a werewolf and hadn’t completely removed his extra stuff.” We can’t verify that comment or where the stop took place.

A Quick Word on Wording

“Scheduled” and “listed” mean the park’s published schedule shows a closure or a noon opening. They don’t mean we’ve confirmed what will happen on the day. The list of unavailable attractions changes as the season ends, which is why verifying is key.

Before You Hit the Road

If you’re planning a final trip, check Cedar Point’s official operating schedule for the day you’re going. Decide which rides matter most to you, and whether the open attractions and HalloWeekends entertainment make the trip worthwhile.

Make the Call

With so many attractions unavailable, is one final visit to Cedar Point worth the trip, or would you rather save your money and return in 2027? Tell us in the comments what you’re planning, and whether you’ve ever been mistaken for a monster on the way home.
