Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe Has a $179 Problem Disney World Doesn’t

Universal Orlando Resort has spent the past year giving guests plenty of reasons to visit Epic Universe. From groundbreaking attractions to incredibly detailed themed lands, the new park has quickly become a major part of Orlando’s theme park scene.

However, one of Universal’s newest experiences isn’t generating the same ticket-buying urgency that Disney World frequently sees with its special events.

Universal Nights at Epic Universe offers guests exclusive nighttime access to the park, along with special entertainment and additional perks. It’s designed to provide a more relaxed experience than a typical day inside the park.

But with November approaching, something stands out. Both remaining dates still have tickets available.

That’s an interesting contrast to Walt Disney World, where popular Halloween parties, Christmas celebrations, and certain Disney After Hours events frequently sell out.

Universal Nights Still Has Tickets Available

Universal Nights was introduced as a limited-capacity after-hours experience at Epic Universe, giving guests an opportunity to explore the park after regular operating hours.

The event originally featured five dates: October 3, 17, and 24, followed by November 6 and 20, 2026.

As of October 29, both November dates still have tickets available.

The event runs from 9 p.m. until midnight, with guests allowed to enter Epic Universe as early as 7 p.m.

Tickets start at $179 per person, plus tax, for guests ages three and older. Qualifying annual passholders can also receive discounts.

For that price, guests can experience all five themed worlds, enjoy character appearances, and take advantage of select unlimited snacks and Coca-Cola Freestyle refills with a provided cup.

Universal also offers nighttime entertainment, including Universal Celestial Goodnight.

Perhaps the biggest attraction, however, is the limited capacity. With fewer guests inside the park, visitors have an opportunity to enjoy attractions and explore the themed environments without dealing with typical daytime crowd levels.

Disney World Has Built a Different Kind of Demand

The remaining ticket availability becomes particularly interesting when compared to Disney World’s nighttime celebrations.

Disney regularly hosts Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. Both events have developed loyal followings, with many guests planning their vacations around them.

Halloween parties are especially popular, and Disney’s 2026 Halloween celebration sold out across its scheduled dates.

Disney After Hours events can also sell out, particularly during busier travel periods.

Of course, Universal Nights is a newer experience, while Disney has spent years establishing its seasonal celebrations.

There is also a difference in what guests receive. Disney’s Halloween and Christmas parties feature exclusive parades, fireworks, entertainment, and holiday traditions that aren’t available during regular park hours.

Universal Nights focuses more heavily on experiencing Epic Universe with fewer people.

That difference could influence how visitors decide to spend their money.

Could the Price Be Part of the Problem?

Another possible explanation is the $179 starting price.

A family of four with four paying guests would spend at least $716 before tax for one evening at Epic Universe.

That’s a considerable expense, especially for families already purchasing regular theme park tickets.

While Universal Nights includes special perks, guests must decide whether the reduced-capacity experience is worth the additional cost.

It is also worth remembering that limited capacity doesn’t guarantee every attraction will have a short wait.

Still, the remaining availability doesn’t necessarily mean Universal Nights is performing poorly. The October 17 event sold out, proving that some dates have attracted enough demand to reach capacity.

Universal hasn’t released attendance figures or ticket sales totals, so there’s no way to know exactly how close the November events are to selling out.

What Happens Next for Universal Nights?

Epic Universe only opened in May 2025, meaning Universal is still developing new ways for guests to experience its newest park.

Universal Nights could eventually become a popular annual offering, especially if the company expands its entertainment or introduces additional exclusive experiences.

For now, guests interested in attending still have two opportunities remaining on November 6 and November 20.

While Disney World fans often have to plan far in advance to secure tickets for popular nighttime parties, Universal visitors currently have more flexibility.

Whether that changes in the future remains to be seen, but Universal Nights hasn’t yet created the same widespread sellout demand associated with Disney World’s most popular special events.
