Spirit Christmas Now Open Just Miles Away From Walt Disney World

Spirit Christmas has opened in Winter Garden, a short drive from Walt Disney World.

Location. 3049 Daniels Road, Suite 220C, Winter Garden, FL 34787, in a former Forever 21.

Hours. Opens at 10 a.m.

Phone. (855) 704-2669

Inventory. String lights, stocking stuffers, giant wreaths, oversized inflatable lawn decor, holiday sweaters that light up and play music, and novelty gifts.

Spirit Christmas operates as a select-location pop-up rather than a national chain, so shoppers outside Central Florida should check spiritchristmas.com for nearby stores.

Same Company as Spirit Halloween

Spirit Christmas is run by Spirit Halloween. The store directory for this location sits on the Spirit Halloween website.

That connection explains the business model. Spirit Halloween takes short-term leases on vacant retail space, operates for about ten weeks, then clears out. After November 1, the company holds a lease on a built-out space with trained staff and nothing to sell for ten months.

A Christmas conversion produces a second selling season from the same lease and fixtures, which is also why the store occupies a former Forever 21. The model runs on empty big-box retail, and holiday decor fills the same footprint costumes did weeks earlier.

Why Winter Garden

Winter Garden is a residential town rather than a tourist corridor, with a downtown, a farmers market, and the West Orange Trail. Local families decorating their own homes are the primary customer.

There is a secondary audience worth noting, though. Many Walt Disney World visitors stay in vacation rental homes in Winter Garden, Windermere and Horizon West. For a family renting a house in December, lights or a wreath are a practical purchase rather than a novelty.

Disney’s Halloween-to-Christmas Turnaround Is Eight Days

The timing looks early until you check Disney’s own calendar.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ends with October. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party begins November 8.

Magic Kingdom removes a complete Halloween overlay and installs a complete Christmas one in roughly a week. Main Street, U.S.A. decor, the Town Square tree, castle lighting, merchandise, parades, shows, and cast costuming all change over, largely overnight.

It is one of the larger operational turnarounds Disney runs annually, and it draws little attention because guests rarely see it happen.

Disney Started Selling Christmas in Summer

For anyone arguing it is too early for a Christmas store, Disney’s schedule complicates the case.

Disney announced the 25 dates for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on June 24. Date-based tickets went on sale to all guests July 16.

A Christmas retail opening in mid-October arrives considerably later than that.

What Is Coming at Magic Kingdom

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs 25 nights from November 8 through December 22, priced from $189 to $229 depending on the date, with Annual Passholder discounts on select nights and $10 off per ticket for children ages 3 to 9.

Eight nights have already sold out, including all three of the season’s lowest-priced dates.

Every park also receives a holiday tree, with the Magic Kingdom tree in Town Square drawing the most attention.

A Free Option During an Expensive Season

One practical note for families visiting in November or December.

Very Merry tickets run $189 to $229 per person, which adds up quickly on top of park admission, lodging and food.

Spirit Christmas is a store with no admission. For guests wanting holiday atmosphere without another ticketed event, oversized inflatables and light-up sweaters provide an hour of entertainment at no cost, which has some value on a day when a break from the parks is welcome.

Halloween still has two weeks remaining. The Christmas store is open regardless.
