Walt Disney World Resort may be considering a lasting change to how guests board Test Track at EPCOT. The single-rider line was closed on Wednesday without advance notice, and a Disney cast member reportedly described the closure as part of a trial of something new.
An Unannounced Closure

On October 14, X user @DisneyWorldTom visited the World Discovery attraction and attempted to join the single-rider queue. However, Disney cast members at the entrance turned them away. The Disney Park guest wrote:
🚨 UPDATE: The Single Rider line at Test Track in EPCOT is closed today.
According to a Cast Member, the line will remain closed for the entire day as Disney tests a new operating procedure.
No word yet on whether this will lead to any permanent changes.

It’s unclear whether the line will be available again on Thursday, October 15. Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t publicly explained the test or what it’s meant to accomplish, so any talk of permanence is speculation for now.
Why Fans Suspect a Larger Change

Disney already ran a comparable experiment this year at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. On Expedition Everest, cast members stopped pulling solo riders from a separate line to fill empty seats. They sorted parties in the standard queue into two groups, evens and odds, so that trains could be filled efficiently without a single-rider option. The test was a major success.
The Expedition Everest single-rider line closed permanently in September, and Disney has since removed all traces of the alternative queue. If Test Track is following that same playbook, this trial could mark the beginning of the end for its single-rider line too.
Remaining Single-Rider Lines

Other attractions at Walt Disney World Resort still use single-rider lines, including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT. Disney cast members sometimes open one for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but availability varies, and access isn’t guaranteed.
