Rose & Crown Will Close at EPCOT Next Year, Disney Confirms

Walt Disney World Resort has revised the plan for a 2027 refurbishment at the Rose & Crown in the United Kingdom World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The shutdown will now start sooner than originally announced, and it will cover more of the location than Central Florida Disney Park guests had expected.

What Disney Said at First

Earlier in October, Walt Disney World Resort announced that the Rose & Crown Table-Service dining room would close for refurbishment next year. Its website listed February 15, 2027, as the start date. Under that version of the plan, the separate pub area seemed likely to remain open, so visitors who just wanted a drink had reason to expect a place to go.

The Updated Notice

On Tuesday, October 13, the restaurant’s webpage was changed. It now tells guests that the Rose & Crown Dining Room and the Rose & Crown Pub will both close for “planned maintenance” on January 11, 2027. That moves the start-up by about a month and brings the pub into the closure.

Walt Disney World Resort says it expects both spaces to return “later in 2027,” without giving an exact date. The restaurant’s last refurbishment, in early 2021, was brief. It began taking reservations again roughly a month after closing, so the 2027 timeline could be shorter or longer than that.

The Yorkshire County Fish Shop, just a short walk away in the same pavilion, will stay open throughout the closure. It will continue serving its regular menu of fish and chips and Irish beer for guests in search of a U.K. meal.

What the Work Likely Involves

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t hinted at any significant or visible changes to the Rose & Crown. The expectation is that Disney cast members will take care of standard maintenance and repairs, the kind of work that’s difficult to schedule while theme park guests are dining there every day.
