Walt Disney World’s final Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 has sold out, taking the date closest to Christmas Day off the board months before the holiday arrives.
The December 22 event at Magic Kingdom is now unavailable, according to current ticket availability reported October 2. It is only the second 2026 party date to sell out, following November 24. For families planning a late-December trip, the development also sharpens a familiar tradeoff: on party nights, a regular Magic Kingdom ticket does not provide access to the separately ticketed evening event.

Disney’s Closest Christmas Party Date Is Now Sold Out
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs on 25 select nights from November 8 through December 22. Disney’s official event page says the five-hour party operates from 7 p.m. to midnight, while event ticketholders may enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m.
December 22 is significant because it is both the final party of the 2026 season and the scheduled event closest to Christmas Day. Its sellout leaves December 20 as the latest listed party date still available as of October 2.
The sellout comes only days after November 24 became the first 2026 date to reach capacity. Inside the Magic previously reported that the Thanksgiving-week date sold out in late September while 24 other nights remained available.

A Regular Magic Kingdom Ticket Does Not Include the Party
The distinction matters for anyone building a full Magic Kingdom day around holiday entertainment. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is not an extension automatically included with standard daytime admission. Disney describes it as a separately priced event requiring a date-specific ticket.
Disney currently lists 2026 party tickets from $189 to $229 plus tax, depending on the date. Party admission lets ticketholders enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 p.m. without purchasing an additional daytime park ticket for that entry.
That creates two different guest experiences on event dates. Party ticketholders can remain for the special event, while guests visiting only with regular daytime admission do not have access to the party once regular park operations end. Inside the Magic has previously detailed how Magic Kingdom’s seasonal party schedule produces repeated early closures for regular day guests.
For families who paid for a normal park day expecting a late Magic Kingdom evening, that distinction can materially change an itinerary. The practical lesson is to check Magic Kingdom hours and the party calendar before choosing which day of a vacation to visit.
What Party Guests Get Behind the Separate Ticket
The extra ticket is tied to a dedicated lineup rather than simply additional operating hours. Disney says the 2026 event includes Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, Frozen Holiday Surprise, character appearances, seasonal treats and select attractions.
Inside the Magic’s 2026 party coverage also details the holiday entertainment and atmosphere on Main Street, U.S.A., including seasonal decorations and the event’s signature “snow.”
There are additional spending opportunities inside the party as well. Disney has confirmed party-night dining at locations including Cinderella’s Royal Table, Be Our Guest Restaurant, The Plaza Restaurant and The Beak and Barrel, while Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party is another separately priced option.
That layered structure is important for guests comparing the value of a standard park day with a party night. The Christmas event offers experiences unavailable during an ordinary evening, but access begins with a second, separate admission product.

The 2026 Sellout Pattern Is Different So Far
December 22 becoming unavailable does not mean the entire Christmas party season is close to selling out.
In fact, 2026 began differently from the previous two seasons. Inside the Magic reported on September 29 that November 24 was the first party to sell out this year. In 2024 and 2025, opening night had been the first date to disappear.
Now the two unavailable dates sit around two of the calendar’s biggest holiday periods: Thanksgiving week and the final party before Christmas.
That pattern does not establish why guests are choosing particular nights, and Disney has not publicly attributed the sellouts to any specific behavior. It does, however, give travelers a concrete warning: high-demand holiday-adjacent dates can disappear even while many other nights remain bookable.

What Disney World Guests Should Watch Next
Anyone determined to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2026 still has multiple dates to choose from, based on Disney’s current calendar and ticket availability. But December 22 is no longer one of them, and November 24 was already unavailable before it.
Guests visiting Magic Kingdom without party admission should pay equally close attention to the event calendar. A party date can mean a shorter regular park day and no access to the event’s exclusive parade, fireworks and other nighttime offerings without the separate ticket. Previous Inside the Magic coverage of Magic Kingdom’s party-season closures explains how those evenings differ from standard park days.
For party guests, Disney’s official Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party page remains the most direct place to check current availability because inventory can change as the season approaches.
The next signal will be which date sells out third—and whether the remaining late-December nights begin disappearing next. For now, the closest Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to Christmas Day is officially off the table, making advance calendar planning increasingly important for Walt Disney World’s busiest holiday travelers.
