Disney Refillable Mugs Cost $22.99 in 2027, Here Is What They Cover

Disney’s refillable resort mugs cost $22.99 plus tax in 2027.

One purchase per trip, not per day. Guests on any of the three 2027 Dining Plan tiers receive one per person at no additional cost, covering the Quick-Service, Table-Service, and Deluxe Table-Service plans.

Here are the rules.

Where to Buy

Each Disney resort hotel sells mugs at its primary counter-service dining location.

Value resorts typically stock them in the food court or the attached gift shop. Moderate and Deluxe resorts sell them at the quick-service location.

What the Mug Covers

Unlimited refills on fountain drinks, coffee, and tea at participating beverage locations inside Disney resort hotels.

“Participating” matters. Look for designated refill stations rather than assuming every beverage counter qualifies.

What It Does Not Cover

Resort mugs do not work at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom.

They also do not work at Disney Springs, Blizzard Beach, or Typhoon Lagoon.

Resort hotels only.

Guests often carry mugs into parks as water bottles, which is fine. There is simply no refill benefit past the turnstile.

The 14-Day Expiration

Each mug has an RFID chip tied to your stay, active for up to 14 days.

When the window closes, the chip deactivates.

That affects a specific group: guests on stays longer than two weeks, anyone with back-to-back reservations, and DVC members on extended trips. A second mug means a second $22.99.

Old Mugs Will Not Work

Mugs from previous trips are deactivated. The chip stopped functioning when that trip ended, and returning with it does not reactivate anything.

The mug still works as a mug. It will not produce a free refill.

New trip, new mug, if you want refills.

The Rule Worth Using

Your mug is valid at every Disney resort hotel, not only the one where you are staying.

That turns the mug from a food court accessory into something closer to a property-wide beverage pass.

Practical examples. Riding the monorail loop means refill options at the Contemporary, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian. Walking between BoardWalk and Beach Club puts you near a station. Any dining reservation at another resort is a refill opportunity.

Resort hopping is already one of the better free things to do at Walt Disney World. This makes it slightly better.

Most guests never use the mug this way.

Is It Worth $22.99

Break it into a daily figure.

Seven nights comes to roughly $3.28 per day. Four nights, about $5.75. Ten nights, around $2.30.

Weigh that against a morning coffee and an afternoon fountain drink and the answer is usually yes, with the value improving the longer you stay.

Buy on arrival day rather than mid-trip. The 14-day clock runs on your stay either way.

Universal Runs the Opposite System

Useful if your trip includes both resorts.

Universal Orlando Resort sells mugs that work at Coca-Cola Freestyle machines throughout its theme parks, including Epic Universe, and at CityWalk.

Those mugs do not work at Universal’s hotels, which each have their own separate Freestyle mugs.

So Disney covers hotels and excludes parks. Universal covers parks and excludes hotels. The two programs are exact inversions of each other.

Splitting a trip between both resorts means multiple mug purchases, with none of them crossing over.
