Magic Kingdom Removes Barriers, Reopens Area After Months of Work
Another set of construction barriers has disappeared from Magic Kingdom.
After months of work near one of the park’s most recognizable restaurants, Disney has officially opened a newly finished area to guests. It’s not a new attraction or entertainment experience, but for families navigating Magic Kingdom with young children, it serves a practical purpose.
The project is finally complete just as the park moves into the busy fall season.

Months of Work Come to an End
Guests can officially use the area as of October 1, ending a project that dates back to the middle of summer.
Construction walls first appeared around the location in late July. Disney continued making changes throughout August, including installing a new curb and pavement.
The new pavement has a brighter beige appearance than the pavement immediately outside The Crystal Palace, giving the finished space a noticeably different look.
By September 28, Disney had removed the construction walls, signaling that work was almost finished. Rolling planters remained in place to keep guests out for a few more days.
Those final barriers are now gone.
A New Space for Magic Kingdom Families
While a stroller parking area isn’t going to compete with a new ride for attention, it can still make a difference for families spending a long day inside Magic Kingdom.
Strollers are everywhere at Walt Disney World, particularly in a park filled with attractions designed for the entire family. Dedicated parking spaces give parents a clear place to leave them while also helping keep busy walkways from becoming unnecessarily congested.
The location near The Crystal Palace makes this project particularly useful. The restaurant sits close to Main Street, U.S.A. and along pathways guests use to reach other sections of the park.
Disney still has much bigger construction projects happening throughout Magic Kingdom. Carousel of Progress remains closed for its major update, the Walt Disney World Railroad is temporarily unavailable, and work continues on Piston Peak National Park.
But one construction zone has officially disappeared.
After spending more than two months behind barriers, the new stroller parking area outside The Crystal Palace is finished and ready for families.
