A new construction permit filed this week signals progress on the long-awaited replacement for Shore, one of the original tenants in the Town Center neighborhood of Disney Springs, as Vuori edges closer to opening there.
A New Permit Points to Progress at Disney Springs
Walt Disney World Resort filed a Notice of Commencement on September 28 for the “installation of signage” at 1530 E. Buena Vista Dr. #1H, a storefront located in the Town Center neighborhood at Disney Springs. The filing names Shark Signs as the third-party vendor responsible for completing the work.
That address belonged to Shore, one of the first third-party retailers to open in Town Center back in 2016, shortly after Disney rebranded the complex from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs. The resort-style clothing brand permanently closed its Disney Springs location in May after a clearance sale, though Shore continues to operate a store in Longboat Key, Florida, along with an online shop.
Speculation about a replacement tenant began almost immediately after Shore’s closure, when a construction permit hinted that Vuori, an athletic apparel brand, might be taking over the space. That speculation was confirmed in June, when Disney Springs’ official Instagram account announced Vuori was “coming soon” to the location.
Signs of Progress Over the Summer
Beyond promotional signage advertising the upcoming Vuori store, the site remained relatively quiet throughout the summer. That changed a few weeks ago, when the storefront’s awnings were repainted, likely in preparation for the new signage referenced in Monday’s permit filing.
WDW News Today shared a photo on Facebook showing the blocked-off storefront alongside its freshly painted awnings.
Walt Disney World Resort has not announced an official opening date for Vuori at Disney Springs.
