Shaun Ranks WDW This Week spotted this one first and posted it on X with a pretty fair observation. “The future road to Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, pretty strong wording to keep guests away for now,” the post read.
Here’s exactly what the sign says. “No Trespassing. This area is a designated construction site, and anyone who trespasses on this property commits a felony.” Since Disney World is technically private property, they’ve got full legal backing to call the cops on anyone who wanders in without permission, or just remove and ban them from the resort entirely. Bottom line, stay away from this area until Disney says otherwise.

What Used to Be Here Before Construction Started
Lakeshore Lodge is going up right on the shores of Bay Lake, wedged between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Fun fact, this exact spot used to be Disney’s River Country, the resort’s original water park that shut down permanently years ago. Turning that abandoned footprint into a brand new resort gives the whole area a real second life after sitting empty for so long.
Here’s What You’re Actually Getting When It Opens
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge opens July 1, 2027, packing in 967 rooms across a genuinely huge range of options. Every single room style pulls inspiration from a classic Disney animated film, mixed with natural materials and earthy tones to match the whole lakeside vibe.
The real showstopper is the Waterfront Lake Houses, one and two bedroom freestanding retreats with dramatic A-frame architecture and giant floor to ceiling windows looking straight out at Bay Lake. These sleep five or eight guests depending on size, each with its own private porch, full kitchen, and washer and dryer. The artwork inside pays tribute to Brother Bear, leaning into that Alaskan setting, plus there’s a Northern Lights inspired lighting feature in the primary bedroom that sets the whole mood at night.
Duo studios bring in the colorful energy of Encanto for a cozy two person stay. Deluxe studios and one or two bedroom villas pull from Bambi, going heavy on natural materials and archival concept art, sleeping up to five or nine guests depending on which one you book. Three bedroom grand villas take their cue from Fantasia, built specifically for big multigenerational families, sleeping up to 12 across multiple bathrooms and roomy shared spaces.
Resort studios and resort studio king rooms draw from Pocahontas, going with earthy colors and artwork celebrating the film’s landscapes. Club level guests get access to The Artist’s Nest, a lounge up above the treetops with free refreshments and Magic Kingdom fireworks views included. And if you really want to go all out, the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, and access to The Artist’s Nest too, with Bay Lake views by day and fireworks by night.
Mark Your Calendar for When Booking Actually Opens
Reservations roll out in waves starting this October. Disney Vacation Club members get first dibs starting October 6 through Member Services directly. Annual Passholders get their own window starting October 7. Then on October 8, it opens up to literally everyone, online or by phone.
