Disney’s BoardWalk is about to enter a new era, and one of the biggest signs of that change is finally glowing along the waterfront.
The former home of Jellyrolls has spent months undergoing a major transformation as Disney prepares to introduce Hurly-Burly. Until recently, construction walls, covered windows, and ongoing exterior work made the location feel like a project still taking shape.
That’s changing quickly.
The permanent Hurly-Burly marquee has now been installed and illuminated, giving guests their clearest look yet at the identity taking over the longtime Jellyrolls location.
And with an October 1, 2026, opening date approaching, there isn’t much time left before guests can finally step inside.
Hurly-Burly Has Officially Arrived on the BoardWalk
The new sign immediately changes the appearance of the building.
Large “HURLY-BURLY” lettering now wraps the curved corner section of the venue. Disney has already turned on the marquee, making it especially noticeable for guests visiting the BoardWalk after dark.
The sign sits against a teal facade, while red awnings have been installed above the main entrance and the large walk-up window facing the promenade.
Together, those details give the building a much different personality than it had during the Jellyrolls era.
While construction barriers remain outside and the windows are still covered, the exterior appears much closer to its finished form.
That makes the illuminated sign particularly significant. After months of watching the former Jellyrolls location change, guests can now see the name of its replacement prominently displayed along the waterfront.
October 1 Will Bring a Different Kind of Entertainment Venue
Hurly-Burly won’t simply recreate the experience Jellyrolls offered.
Instead, the new venue will change depending on when guests visit.
During the afternoon, families will be able to enjoy trivia and games inside Hurly-Burly. That gives the location a daytime purpose and opens the space to guests who previously wouldn’t have been able to experience Jellyrolls’ adults-focused nightlife.
At 9 p.m., Hurly-Burly will make a major transition.
The location will become a 21-and-over live music lounge, shifting from its family-friendly afternoon programming into an experience specifically for adults.
That setup gives Disney two different uses for the same BoardWalk venue.
It also keeps live music attached to a location that longtime guests have associated with nighttime entertainment for years, even though the overall concept will be different.
The Final Countdown Is Underway
Disney still has some work to finish before October 1.
Construction barriers remain along the promenade, and covered windows continue to keep the interior hidden from curious guests. For now, Disney is keeping much of the finished indoor space out of sight.
The outside tells a different story.
With its teal exterior, red awnings, and glowing marquee now in place, Hurly-Burly finally looks less like a construction site and more like a venue preparing to open.
For longtime Jellyrolls fans, seeing another name illuminated on the building may feel strange.
But that change is now impossible to miss.
Hurly-Burly is scheduled to begin welcoming guests October 1, giving families a new afternoon destination before turning into an adults-only live music lounge each night at 9 p.m.
The Jellyrolls chapter has ended. Now, its replacement is almost ready to begin its own run on Disney’s BoardWalk.
