Disney World Brings Back Water Park Seasonal Pass

But There's a Catch

Walt Disney World has brought back the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass, giving guests repeat access through May 15, 2027. The offer is $89 plus tax, according to Disney’s current water-park ticket page, but families planning late-winter or spring vacations need to read the fine print: the pass carries two blockout periods in February and March 2027.

Those restrictions fall inside major vacation windows. The listed blockout dates are February 19 through 21 and March 20 through 28, 2027, meaning a pass valid into mid-May still cannot be used on those dates. For travelers building a Walt Disney World trip around a water-park day, that detail can change the value quickly.

Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass Returns Through May 2027

Disney’s official water-park ticket page advertises the Disney Water Parks Seasonal Pass as a limited-time offer valid through May 15, 2027, for $89 plus tax. Disney says the pass provides admission to Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, whichever park is open.

That distinction matters. A seasonal pass does not guarantee both water parks will operate during a guest’s visit. Disney states that its water parks can be affected by annual refurbishment, seasonal operations, capacity, weather closures, and other operational changes.

Walt Disney World leaned heavily on its water parks during summer 2026, operating Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach simultaneously. Inside the Magic covered the dual-park summer schedule as a notable shift for guests accustomed to seasonal rotation.

The resort also offered eligible Disney Resorts Collection hotel guests complimentary water-park admission on their check-in day during a defined summer 2026 window. That perk and the seasonal pass are separate, but both show why water-park planning has become a bigger part of the vacation calendar.

The Blockout Dates Are the Fine Print Families Cannot Ignore

The biggest catch is straightforward: having a valid seasonal pass does not mean unrestricted access every day through May 15.

The February blockout runs February 19 through February 21, 2027. The larger spring restriction runs March 20 through March 28, 2027. Anyone considering the pass specifically for a trip during either period should account for the fact that it cannot be used on those dates.

Calling the dates “hidden” would go too far—Disney’s ticket page explicitly tells shoppers that blockout dates apply and directs them to important ticket details. Still, they are easy to overlook when the larger selling point is repeat access through mid-May.

That is particularly relevant for families whose dates are fixed by school schedules. A pass can look flexible when judged only by its expiration date, but the usable calendar determines its actual value.

Disney’s Water Parks Still Operate on a Seasonal Rhythm

Blizzard Beach is themed as a melting ski resort, while Typhoon Lagoon centers on a tropical paradise transformed by a fictional storm. Both offer slides and family aquatic attractions, but Disney does not promise simultaneous year-round operation.

Disney says each water park undergoes annual refurbishment and that maintenance periods are staggered so guests should generally have at least one water-park experience available year-round. That model affected 2026 trip planning when Typhoon Lagoon began its seasonal closure September 9.

Inside the Magic reported that September 8 was Typhoon Lagoon’s final scheduled operating day before the refurbishment, leaving Blizzard Beach as the operating water park. Earlier in 2026, the reverse happened while Blizzard Beach was unavailable during its seasonal rotation.

That history matters before purchasing. The seasonal pass can provide repeat admission, but which water park is available may depend on the operating calendar closer to the visit.

The $89 Price Can Look Different Depending on Your Dates

At $89 plus tax, the seasonal pass sits relatively close to some single-day water-park options displayed by Disney. The official page currently lists a 1-Day Water Park Ticket with Blockout Dates at $64 for guests ages 10 and older and $58 for ages 3 through 9, although eligibility and restrictions should be checked before purchase.

Repeat visits are therefore the obvious appeal. But the value depends on whether a guest’s travel dates are usable and whether the operating water park fits the trip.

Disney Resort guests should also check whether a separate hotel benefit applies. Disney is promoting complimentary water-park admission on check-in day for eligible summer 2027 resort stays, adding another variable for families comparing options.

The cheapest-looking path on the first screen may not be the best fit for every vacation. Dates, hotel eligibility, blockouts, and park operations all matter.

What Guests Should Check Before Buying

Before purchasing the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass, guests should compare their exact vacation dates against the blockout calendar and review Disney’s operating calendar for Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Disney also warns that operations remain subject to refurbishment, weather, capacity, and other closures.

The pass remains advertised through May 15, 2027, but the February and March restrictions create two meaningful gaps. Travelers outside those dates may find repeat access useful; travelers inside them should not assume the expiration date guarantees admission.

With spring 2027 vacations already bookable, the practical move is to verify the terms immediately before purchase and recheck water-park hours as the trip approaches. Disney can change operating offerings, and the difference between “valid through May” and “valid on my vacation dates” is the detail that can decide whether this pass works for a family. For additional context, Inside the Magic has tracked how water-park restrictions and availability have affected Disney World vacation planning in previous seasons.
