Guests visiting Disneyland Resort won’t find Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye open right now, as the attraction enters a refurbishment period with no confirmed end date in sight.
A Closure That’s Been in the Works
Disneyland Resort announced this closure back in late July, confirming that Indiana Jones Adventure would shut down for refurbishment beginning September 8, 2026. The attraction has been part of a multi-year revitalization effort within Adventureland, with Disney gradually restoring classic elements of the ride, including the return of its signature boulder scene.
That effort has included several notable updates in recent memory. The ride’s preshow made a comeback in 2025 after a five-year absence, and in January 2026, Walt Disney Imagineers fixed a mid-ride bridge effect that had been malfunctioning for years and refreshed props near the ride’s exit.
When Will It Reopen?
As of now, Disneyland Resort’s website simply tells guests to “check back” for further updates. The park’s published operational calendar, which currently runs through October 20, doesn’t list any hours for Indiana Jones Adventure for that date.
Photos shared by WDW News Today on Facebook show new signage posted at the closed ride, reading “Attention! Not Offering Tours Today” and “Coming Soon! Temple Tours Will Begin Again This Fall.”
A separate sign posted on the wooden fence blocking the entrance reads:
“Coming soon!
Join me on a most splendid tour of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, with an opportunity to partake in the Fabled Blessings of Mara: eternal youth, great wealth, or a glimpse into the future. What could be more delightful? Tours begin in Fall of 1935!
– Sallah El-Kahir”
