3 New Harry Potter Theme Park Lands Announced — Including a World-First Location
A historic Wizarding World expansion has just been officially revealed, and theme park fans around the globe are in for a massive surprise. Developers Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences have announced that an upcoming Harry Potter development has officially scaled up from a single-land project into three distinct, fully realized immersive lands.
Spanning an incredible 63,000 square meters (approximately 678,000 square feet), this unprecedented expansion will feature Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and the Forbidden Forest. The project marks the first time in theme park history that these three iconic locations will exist together under a single indoor roof.
Three Magical Environments Under One Roof
When plans for a Wizarding World expansion were first teased, fans expected a single themed area. Instead, developers are building three fully fleshed-out wizarding environments:

- Diagon Alley: A sprawling cobblestone street filled with magical storefronts, spellcasting locations, and immersive dining.
- Hogwarts Castle: The soaring, gothic school environment where guests can wander through famous corridors and magical classrooms.
- The Forbidden Forest: Making history as the world’s very first permanent, standalone theme park land dedicated entirely to the Forbidden Forest.
While Universal theme parks currently house Hogwarts in Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida, this new expansion brings both legendary destinations—along with the dark, mysterious Forbidden Forest—into one unified experience.
What About the Rides? What Is Confirmed (and What Isn’t)
While excitement for the expansion is at an all-time high, theme park enthusiasts should take note: no specific rides or attraction names have been officially confirmed yet.

Miral and Warner Bros. have officially confirmed that all three lands will feature world-exclusive rides created specifically for this destination that cannot be found at any other theme park on Earth. However, official details regarding exact ride systems, storylines, or character encounters remain strictly under wraps.
Speculation among fans is already running wild regarding what these exclusive attractions might feature. Many anticipate potential dark rides, family coasters, or interactive spellcasting adventures taking advantage of the Forbidden Forest’s magical creatures or the enchanted shops of Diagon Alley. Officials have promised that additional details regarding the attractions and immersive experiences will be revealed in future updates.
What Is Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, and Where Is It Located?
This massive Wizarding World expansion is being built inside Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the premier indoor theme park in the Middle East.

Opened in July 2018, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is a state-of-the-art, fully climate-controlled theme park. Because the entire park is housed indoors under a giant climate-controlled dome, guests can enjoy all of its rides, dining, and lands in air-conditioned comfort year-round, completely protected from the extreme desert heat.
Location Details:
- Where It Is: The park is located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.
- Proximity to Airports & Cities: It sits just 10 minutes away from Abu Dhabi International Airport and approximately 50 minutes from neighboring Dubai.
- Yas Island Entertainment Hub: Yas Island is a world-renowned entertainment destination and is home to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, SeaWorld Yas Island, and the Yas Marina Formula 1 Circuit.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi currently houses six immersive themed lands: Warner Bros. Plaza, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, Cartoon Junction, Gotham City, and Metropolis.
The addition of the three Harry Potter lands—combined with two previously announced DC Comics rides, Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away—will add over 70,000 square meters (753,478 square feet) of new space, expanding the total size of the park by more than 50%.
Expansion Timeline: When Can You Visit?
Construction is officially underway, with developers targeting a completion date in 2029.

Once open, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi will become the very first park outside of Universal’s resort portfolio to feature permanent, large-scale Harry Potter attractions. Between the massive 678,000-square-foot footprint, the inclusion of the world’s first Forbidden Forest land, and a lineup of exclusive rides, this expansion is set to make Abu Dhabi an absolute bucket-list destination for Potterheads worldwide.
Stay tuned as Warner Bros. and Miral prepare to drop more details about the mysterious rides waiting deep inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
